We are new DVC members currently staying at the Boardwalk Hotel (not at the DVC villas) and paying cash. As a DVC member, when does the free valet parking apply? Does it apply only when we stay at DVC properties or at all the on-site hotel properties? I have asked and no one has provided the same answer from Disney personnel. Last night we went to the California Grill for dinner, valet parked and was charged $6.00 despite being a DVC member. This isn't a big deal..I like the valet feature..but just wanted to clearly understand when the"free" feature kicks in...thanks.....ps. given what we pay to be members you would think valet parking should be free anywhere in the property.

DVC Members only get free valet parking at DVC resorts - Boardwalk, Wilderness Lodge and presuming after 7/1 - Beach Club. The reason is that as owners, we are actually paying for employing the valets at these resorts. We do not employ the valets at non-DVC resorts. You still get the free valet even if you are not staying at that resort or even staying at WDW. So if you are paying cash at the Boardwalk Inn, you still get it, just show your DVC card.

Debbie- thanks for the fast response...I think I understood but this sentence confused me "You still get the free valet even if you are not staying at that resort or even staying at WDW"...I did not follow this point...thanks for clarifying..

You could be staying offsite and still show your DVC card to get the free valet parking at DVC resorts, it is not required that you are staying there. Example - you are staying at a Super 8, you can pull up to Boardwalk and get free valet.
