I have a point/reservation/time question

We own 150 pts at BCV and 50 at SSR.

I want to book May 2006 for BCV and need all the points.

So I can only book this far our using my 150 pts...not my 50 SSR points until 7 month window, right?

so if I need to book 2 studios for 246 pts (yes we are borrowing more)...
at BCV for May 06...when can I book both?

now or November (7 mos)??

For a May 2006 ressie, you can use all of your 2006 BCV points plus all your 2007 BCV points at the 11 month booking window. Since your trip is in the 2006 use year, you can borrow from the 2007 year. That means you have 300 points at your disposal for that May 2006 ressie, should you chose to borrow all of the 2007 use year. I would say bank the SSR points and use them in 2007 with 3 years of points for that ressie, since you will have none left on your master contract that year.

For DVC resort reservations, your BCV points may only be used at BCV at 11 months. Your SSR points may only be used at SSR at 11 months. At 7 months, you can combine the points and they may be used at any DVC resort, based on availability.

If you need more points for a reservation, your options are to borrow from the next Use Year or have points transferred from another member for the resort you want.

Diane, I never thought of that. That is a smart idea. then we are not borrowing every year for infinity.

So I make my ressie for BCV using 2006/2007 points. thats 300-246 leaves balance of 54 points. So I bank those points next year and bank my SSR points too.

then in Feb 2007 I have 154 points - 100 SSR and 54 BCV...right?

You got it right. Points management can be like a puzzle, but I think it is kind of fun. For our December 2005 trip, I had to manage our trips from our 2002 use year to our 2009 use year to optimally choose which points to use (we have points at OKW, BCV, and HH). It helps to have a rough idea of where and when you want to go on future trips. Good luck!
