On formal night, I know it's not necessary for you to have tuxes etc., but is it ok to wear a tux? How many people have you seen wearing them? Can you rent a tux on board? Do you know how much it costs to rent them? My DH and I think it would be really fun to get dressed up for this night, but we don't want to look out of place. Thanks!

I hear the 3 and 4 day cruises are not as formal but on the 7 day cruise My DH wears a tux on Formal nights. Go for it!

We will be on a 7 day western cruise. So- that sounds good that they're worn more. But exactly how much would you say? Are there lots of guys that wear them?

Yes, there are MANY who wear tuxes. In fact, this will be the first cruise that my DH is going to wear one. He's actually going to buy one before we leave, because the cost of owning one (he's buying from Ascot tuxes) is not much more than renting one.

Also, the passengers aren't the only ones in tuxes, you'll also see Mickey and Goofy too,:p signifying formal night!::yes::

Your DH would look great in a tux on formal night! DH always wears his on formal nights, and seeing him like that just takes my breath away...

You can rent one from www.cruiselineformal.com. Just go to their website and choose the tux you like, and give them your measurements and your sailing information. Your room steward will then deliver the tux directly to your stateroom. You do need to do this ahead of time- you can't wait until you're onboard.

We've used them several times, and have been very pleased with the service. DH likes doing it this way- we don't need to deal with packing and cleaning his tux from home.

To answer your question, on our 2/7/04 Magic cruise, I would say that 30% of the men had tuxes on our rotation. Probably 50% in suits and ties and the other 20% were not "formally" dressed.

Even if your DH was the only one in a tux I bet you'll still be happy you did it, especially if you don't have to twist his arm.

Have a great trip :wave2:
