I think I can transfer points from one contract to the other. Is that correct? We have a Sept UY for our WL contracts and a Oct. UY for our SSR.

OR

Can we add a night to an existing reservation we have in Aug. using our SSR contract even if it was booked with WL contract? Can they link that reservation if we add a night? OR would we have to move that last night?

Thanks :)

You're limited to 1 transfer per year for each contract.

Yes, as long as the reservation date is within the 7mon period. If you get the exact same room type, then Member Services can link the two reservations.

Okay we have never transferred points before and the ressie is for Aug. of this year.

Disney has been known to allow more than one transfer per use year between member accounts owned by the same person. So, I buy a BWV contract with an August use year. I then add on ad BLT with a February use year. Same ownder, different memberships because of the use year difference.

While it has been allowed, there's no guaranteed and the time you really need the 2nd transfer may be when they follow the rules and say no.

You can't borrow transferred points. So if you transferred from one contract for a 2013 UY, you couldn't use them in your 2012 UY. They can link a night made with a different contract; we do that all the time. But you will have to check out and back in again. Before the great computer change in June 2011, you didn't have to do that. Now you do.

I've always been told I used up my one transfer per year when I transferred points from one contract to another.

I have been allowed to transfer points from my account to another member AND transfer points between my own contracts all in the same Use Year. I was also told that I could even transfer again between my own contracts during the same Use Year.

I agree, that this is not how the policy is written and MS reps could use different interpretations, so some members may not have receive the same generosity (or lack thereof).

Enjoy!

They will give you the standard line if you use your 1 transfer. After that it's handled case by case. Generally where they allow you to do more than 1 a year is when points must be in 1 account to proceed such as for a single night using combined points for for a cash type exchange like DCL. It does vary a little as do all things that are technically outside the rules but handled using discretion.

We have owned 3 separate contracts and for almost 10 years we have maybe only transferred points once or twice. We book a few nights on one contract, then a few nights on another contract, etc. The ressies are then linked together (by request) and you are done. We have had to re-check in which can be a pain, but it's usually a couple minutes at the desk and you're done. You also can't do online check-in with a linked reservation. I was told this by MS and confirmed that I couldn't for an upcoming stay. Supposedly it will be fixed soon.

If you are concerned about transferring points and using up your option to do it again in the future, then just book your last night using points from another contract and link the ressie.

Good luck!
