I have a confession....

I hate wrapping Christmas presents! I know as a female I'm supposed to love doing that sort of thing, but I just don't.

My mom loves it and gets really carried away. She gets lots of different types and patterns of wrapping paper and then matching/co-ordinating bows and ribbons. And not that curling ribbon either. She gets this real thick wire ribbon from Michaels. Then she'll put little finishing touches on each one like a candy cane or ornament or small stuffed animal.

She takes great pride and pleasure in wrapping each one in the most elegant, ornate way possible. I have to admit they look gorgeous. One year she wrapped all my gifts for me and that year I took more photos of the gifts sitting under the tree than I did of the kids opening them!

But if it were up to me I'd throw all the gifts in gift bags and be done with it. The only reason I don't is because kids want to tear into a wrapped present not a gift bag. Santa doesn't do gift bags. So like it or not I must wrap. Just don't expect any ribbons or bows. I refuse.

Besides this year I have a good excuse. We got two cats over the summer and if I put out gifts with bows and ribbons the cats will tear them to pieces. So I'm off the hook there.

Besides, mine always look like a 3 year old wrapped them, no matter how carefully I do it!

At least we only have to do it en masse once a year!

I really suck at wrapping gifts. Some gifts I put in regular boxes, you know the kind stores send you when they ship stuff to you in the mail?

Well, I put SO's gifts in those and had her wrap them. She has no idea that some of those gifts were actually for her.

I can never get them straight I always use to much or too little and then by the time I'm done ( with NO help mind you ) I don't even want to THINK about ribbons and bows.

Then my SIL ( whom I love dearly) shows up with these gorgeous wrapped gifts and her handmade note-cards and I just kind of shove my packages into the back so everyone can ooooh and ahhhhh over hers LOL

Count me in! I hate wrapping them too! I wish there was a place you could just take them all to and leave them there to be wrapped! One stop wrapping! I do alot more gift bags now, but then I can never get the tissue in there just right! I can't win! LOL!

Well, okay, guess I could be doing it now instead of sitting in front of the computer. Nahh, it'll wait till tomorrow.

I brought in the gifts from the storage shed where they were hidden, this a.m. with the full intention of biting the bullet and getting all the wrapping done today. They are now sitting in my closet still unwrapped and here I sit typing instead of wrapping. Oh well.
