I have a confession....

I dont mind wrapping...as long as it is not some odd shaped package..i would much rather wrap a box ...or just throw it in a gift bag :)

I don't mind wrapping gifts. In fact, I volunteered to do gift wrap at the Pittsburgh International airport for the past couple years. ITs the bows and ribbons that I hate. I always get tangled up in those darn things. And then my cat decides she wants to play and tries to steal my ribbon. I get so frustrated. And then I don't really like the odd shaped things. Santa got my brother a medicine ball and it is in one of those boxes that the ball sticks out from and it is really weird. You should have seen me trying to wrap that darn thing. LOL.

This year, I am being one of Santa's elves and wrapping everything my mom gets for people and everything for my brother. And I am getting paid for it too! The more I wrap, the bigger the shopping spree in Disney in February will be. :cool1: LOL.

I don't mind wrapping, but I cringe at the expensive of an ornate package. I would much rather spend the extra money on the gift than on the ribbons and bows that will go in the trash. Santa wraps everything and I wrap all kid's gifts. Other than that I love giftbags. We do a $5 gift game at my family and I choose my gift based on the giftbag. I am glad that my family hasn't caught on to me yet. Usually the gift that is inside goes to goodwill, but that is one less giftbag that I have to buy the next year.

Psst! I don't like it either. I made it a point years ago when DH and I were dating to prove how 'badly' I wrap so DH always does it. :rofl2:

that I made my "confession" and started this thread. For two reasons:
1. I now know I am not alone.
2. Alot of people got tags from it, :sunny: including me!!

I don't love the actual wrapping paper part - I always still measure wrong and I have to jam all the extra paper in and cover it with lots of tape - but I do love doing ribbons and making my presents look beautiful. Every year I have a "theme". I buy several rolls of paper in coordinating patterns and colors (this year is burgandy and gold, last year was blue and silver), and matching wired ribbon in different widths and patterns. I make bows and curls and spirals - I just love doing ribbon. When I lived with my parents, my mom would wrap all the gifts and then leave me to do the ribbon for all of them (might explain why I'm good at ribbon, but not at the actual wrapping). I save by picking my colors for next year while shopping this year, then I buy all the paper, ribbon, and tags that I think I'll need when it goes 50% off after Christmas.

Measure?? Hmmmm, Maybe that's my problem! That could be why I sometimes have to fold paper over & over to get it to fit. :rotfl:

ahhhh very sneaky. thats like the men who break dishes when youre dating so youlll never let them wash dishes again after youre married.

Here is a trick to cutting the correct amount of paper. Measure the box/item with a long piece of ribbon and mark off the length, then take the ribbon and measure out the paper adding a couple of extra's inches for the fold and voila, the correct amount of paper.

I love to wrap and I make my own bows using ribbon I buy from Costco. No one in my family can wrap well so I end up knowing what everyone is getting because I wrapped it.

If I had known how many people hated wrapping I would have started a holiday business...maybe next year!

I HATE wrapping! Last year at Christmas I kept putting it off until Christmas Eve. We had a half day at work, and I wasn't feeling well, so when I got home, I called my little sister and asked her to come over and wrap all my presents. And bring me lunch. I couldn't believe it, but she actually did it! Sometimes little sisters can be useful! :rotfl2:
