Yes, you can request this. Although many here report poor luck with requests at BWV, we once had 3-2 bedrooms and asked to have them near each other. All three rooms were right across the hall from each other.
We have two studios for June. We asked, and MS referenced the other reservation on each one. We are hoping to be close, but it may turn out to be a blessing to have some space. Mom, if you are reading this - I am totally joking!!!

I hope you have better luck then i had! We had 4 BW View Studios in Feb. 2009, the reservations were linked together , but we were no where near each other. 2 were on the 4th floor and 2 on the 5th floor no where near one another...and we got our rooms around 4pm (which is around check in time, which was no problem, just thought we would have had a better chance of the rooms being close to each other) we checked in at the resort in the morning.
You can call the Boardwalk Resort Manager the evening before and alert him directly that you are a group and would like them to be near each other. They assign the rooms the night before. This will put it in their minds.
You can always ask, but I'm one of the ones that never get anything I ask for at BWV. The last time I traveled with my family and had 2 studios, I had a preferred and they a standard, I asked to be near them (as we wanted to share that pot of coffee in the morning). We were both on the same floor. We were near jellyrolls in the last room and she was near the tennis court in the last room. I kidded her and asked if she called and asked to be as far away as possible. But we were on the same floor just at two different ends of the resort. We actually just walked outside around both pools to get to her room. I just don't ask at the BWV anymore, as it's never honored. OP, good luck!
The only request I've ever had met was "two rooms near each other" at the Boardwalk. But it was my sister's cancer recovery trip - and that information was all over the comments section, along with the ages of her kids (2 and 4), so I suspect I may have gotten a little extra pixie dust that trip under the circumstances.
Otherwise, if I ask for top floor, we can walk straight out to the pool. Its inevitible and we don't request any longer their either (and I think get better rooms).
We also have the worst luck with requests at the BWV. For our recent trip, and every trip actually, I asked for 'near elevator, upper floor.' We got 'end of the hall across from the bus stop, 2nd floor,' and I booked at exactly 11 months out. When I asked about the requests, the CM said "Sorry, it's preassigned." Do you think they even look at the requests?
