I hate my granite countertops!

Man, I would love to have granite that allowed us to see crumbs!!! My granite countertops have quite a bit of 'movement' so it's really hard to see any left behind crumbs!! I'm always wiping it down after lunch and other food prep!!! But, other than that, I love my granite. It really is the focal point in my kitchen! I clean it with a granite cleaner, and then once a month use a granite polish.

Never had any problems with our granite.
No cracking or resealing or resurfacing needed.
Of course, I have never used harsh cleaners...
But I have to wonder if some of the complaints are due to poor quality of granite used? Installation? And 'user error'?????

We picked out a generic granite, like the ones described, because we didn't re-do our whole kitchen, and had to use something that would 'go with anything'....
And, if we sell one day, the new owners will eventually do what they want.
We just REALLY needed new countertops and wanted a nice granite.

Like the other posters said, I do not really like the particular colors/design of the granite.
But the granite itself is great!

Can't wait until we retire/move, and I get to do the beautiful kitchen I want!!!! :)

Getting granite next week for the first time next week. I really was having problems because of all the movement and busyness, but I found one I think I can live with. Quartz was going to cost me $60-$80 per sq foot versus $50 for granite. My installer sells both granite and quartz. He prefers granite for some reason and said that quartz can still "stain" or "burn" even they say it doesn't. He's had to try to "fix" it.
