:mad: I had a $150 mail in rebate for DD's laptop that I got her for Christmas. I completely forgot about it until now. The offer expired 16 Jan 07:headache: Damn....

::yes::

I'm right there with you. Yesterday I found an $80.00 cell phone rebate -- that expired on Saturday.:sad1:

Why don't they just give us the ^%$#$^*&*()(*&& stinkin' rebate at the time of the purchase?????:mad:

Because then we couldn't come on the Dis and rant about it:rotfl:

Mail it anyway. You never know....

Dang though, $150 is a lot of beer.:sad1:

I hate rebates for electronic items. They always take FOREVER to receive. I just recently got one back for the first prepaid cell phone I bought my son...a year and a half ago! He doesn't even have that phone anymore.

It was weird though, they sent me a $100 Visa debit card. I have never received a rebate in the form of a debit card. But, there is no pin #, so I cannot get the cash, I had to spend it somewhere they accept Visa. Not that I had a real problem doing that, LOL. Just sort of odd, kwim?

They make you send them in for just this reason, they hope you forget or it gets lost and then they dont have to pay the rebate.

They do not take the money off because the majority of the population do not mail rebates in. It is a way for the consumer to think they are getting a deal. We have used them in our store from time to time but to be honest our prices are so low if we just gave the rebate we would be letting product walk out of the door way below cost. ( with big box stores and the internet your little local people are dying here....but that is another thread)

Thank you for not calling the retailer and yelling at them because you forgot to mail it in! ( I know I was not the retailer but I am 100% sure that if they were on these boards they would say the same thing. )

I just tend to but products without looking at the rebates because I am one of the many that never mail them in.

I did one for my moms tivo... I kept haunting them online. Took 2 months of that to get the 150.00!! They hope you give up or forget!
