I hate conformists.

At first I liked Taylor Swift. Then, after hearing each of her songs 5 million times in two days on any given radio station, I got sick of her. I don't like her anymore, way overplayed and overhyped.

ETA: [smallvoice] Technically, if you're bothering people about worrying about other people's lives and actions, aren't you worrying about her actions? Just saying.[/smallvoice]

definintion of a conformist: a person who conforms to the usual practices or standards of a group, society, etc.

definition of a nonconformist: a person who refuses to conform to established customs, therefore making them a conformist to nonconforming

I don't think anyone should judge why "most" people wear Hollister, just judge your own style or taste. If you hate hollister or want to seem more "individual", then you don't have to wear it.

(IMO) it doesn't matter if you are following the "conformists" or the "individuals" as long as you're happy.

sorry if that was harsh, but I'm sick of this argument

"Sean Nelson said it best: “No one likes what I like, that’s how I like it.” It’s as though people think, “I’m such an individual that I like things that nobody’s even heard of before. I went out of my way to find music and books and movies that are so obscure that I am an individual, and I am interesting because I like interesting things.” But that’s not true. Liking interesting things doesn’t make you interesting. You yourself, makes you interesting"

I root for 'underdog' teams...such as the mets, jets, and islanders.
I don't like people who root for teams just because they're good.

That's my stance too. I dont root for any team just becuase they're good. Since the giants won the superbowl last year their fanbase has increased like tenfold.

i wear whatever i want.
listen to what i like.
support my hometown teams, because i was raised that way.

i dont try to "fit in"
and i dont try to be "originial" or "non conformist"

i go with what i like.

I don't try to be anyone else. I try to be me. I like what I like and if it happens to be the popular "thing" then so what? I like it cause I like it. Not cause it's "in". With clothes, I'll take something and try to make it my own. I'm not a conformist. I'm not a non conformist. I'm me.

The original poster appears to be a strict conformist to the ideal of nonconformism.

I don't really know whether or not the kids at school dress in hollister, AE, or whateve else to fit in or they just like their clothes. Even if I did, it wouldn't bother me. They can do as they please.

I know I don't like their clothes, and I don't, not like their clothes just to fit in with the people who don't like their clothes. Lol. If that made sense.

I just recently started to fall in love with the narnia movies. I didn't start liking them to fit in with the people who like them, I saw a clip and watched them and just liked them a lot.
ITA with Jade, some things I like are popular, but I'm not conforming. I'm just liking things, that I like.

That's too bad. Disney just dropped them.

OT: Yep, I know.
Supposably some other company, I think Fox might be picking them up though.

Well, the reason Disney dropped the franchise was because of the numbers; Narnia just wasn't pulling in any cash.

I'm not entirely sure that another studio would want to pick up the series at this point, with the recession and all.

Frankly speaking it doesn't appear as though the general public really wants to see another Narnia movie, which is a shame.

I wanted to see The Horse And His Boy get a big-screen Disney adaption...

::yes:: Guess we'll just have to see what happens.

I don't judge regardless of what a person is wearing, what music they listen to, etc. That's them, their body and their life...what right to I have to judge on it if it doesn't affect me any?

I don't care if a person is wearing designer clothes or something found at good will, because honestly? Does it really matter all that much? If a person wants to dress like Britney Spears (just pulling out a random name here), who cares? They should be able to without people freaking out about it.

And as for sports, I don't even like sports! Aside from the gymnastics and figure skating I watch when the Olympics are going on (if those are even considered a sport...), I don't watch anything else. Most people around here LOVE football, my parents included, but to me it's almost as exciting as watching the grass grow. Am I like that because I want to be different tho? No...I just don't like watching sports. Never have and probably never will.

When it comes down to it...they're clothes...or hair...or CD's...or games. One day, the clothes will wear out and end up in a dump somewhere...the hair will turn gray...and the music will be out of date and the sports teams will change. What matters the most is who they are is a PERSON and how they behave, not what they are wearing on their bodies or any other personal preference for that matter.

Just...do what you want to do and let others do the same.
