My niece who is 20 just found out one of her closest friends has a malignant tumor around her heart and is starting chemo. This poor girl also has Crohn's disease.

My friend's mom went into the hosp with severe pain...she's told she has cancer that spread to several organs, probably from the melanoma she was diagnosed with 3 years ago. This woman has struggled with lupus for many years too.

Another friend's dad and sis-in-law are both terminal and not expected to live more than a few months. It's just heartbreaking...

I hate cancer, too. My prayers for your niece's friend, your friend's mom, and everybody else suffering from cancer. Both my mom and her father by coincidence died of lung cancer. Grandpa was 63, mom had just turned 64. Both smoked.

The beast doesn't always win.

My mother survived uterine cancer for 20+ years after being given 3 months to live in 1979. She would not accept her death sentence.

I hate it as well!! Dealing with my nephew so I can definitely relate!! I will add prayers for all those close to you if you will pray for my 20 mo old nephew with A.L.L.

Cancer sucks!

Hydster, consider those prayers said!!

So sorry for everyone who has had to deal with this horrible disease.

I hate this disease as well. Colon Cancer runs in my family. My maternal Grandmother and maternal Uncle died from it. I am happy to say that my Mother has been in remission for 6 years. Great strides have been made in the detection of colon cancer and colonoscopies are essential for anyone with a strong family history such as mine.

I know it doesn't always win...my dad survived melanoma AND kidney cancer (he has one kidney now).

My Mom survived breast cancer but my best friend didn't survive uterine cancer. :(

Yup, I don't think you can live these days without knowing someone who died of cancer or just had it.

I could not agree more.
Yesterday was the anniversary of my mom's death(colon cancer)..and what news does my brother call with on Monday?
That my SIL has breast cancer.
She is 33 years old!!!
We have been friends since we were 8 years old.
I am in total disbelief. :sad2:
Cancer bites.

You'll get no argument from me.

DBF's 21 year old sister has leukemia and my grandma had cancer as well :( It sucks!

Having been diagnosed last month with breast cancer, I am sporting a little pin on my purse these days (picked up at a support group at my hospital) that says "CANCER SUCKS" and my pink ribbon of course.

But as Taylor said...
The beast doesn't always win.

Sending postive thoughts and prayers to those in need.
