I'm so sorry Aimee. My Mil just got dx with lung cancer. I don't think there is a thing we can do about it either. Lost my Mom to breast cancer. All Mom kept saying was she could handle having cancer but just as long as her kids or grandkids didn't. Two years later my niece got it. Just about killed my Mom to she her granddaughter get. Thank God she beat it and has now been cancer free for 7 years.
Its still an awful beast. Just hate the damn thing. Its even worse to see kids get it. At least Mom lived her life. Some kids don't even get a chance.
My dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer early on he was 68 at the time. (feb 03) Now my husband had a brush with it Testicular cancer. He is 35. Both cancers have been taken care of and the doctors seem to feel we should be done with it . Regular six month check ups and thats it.
Husband had surgery to remove left testical.(april 04) Has not spread anywhere else. (YEAH HE CAN STILL HAVE KIDS) However, no radiation was required.
My father-in-law however was not soo lucky. Wasn't dx until toooo late. (June 04) Nothing could be done except let him die. Die with dignity. At home with his family by his side.
So you see guys live life to its fullest enjoy your loved ones and count all your blessings. Oh yeah and see your doctors. !!! You'll never no when they can be of a real service to not just for a cold/flu.
To aimeedyan another dis poster. wants to know if she should go see her mom or not in orlando. For $500 money comes and goes YEAH ITS WORTH IT
Believe me, you won't get any arguements with me on that!
I'll even hand you the bat! After these past couple days, I would love to just crawl under a rock, away from life, for a little while.
Count me in also, 1year and 12 days ago I was dx. with breast cancer. It is not a year I would ever care to repeat, but I do THANK GOD that I'm here to say it
Me, too. I lost a very close friend to cancer a couple of years ago and my BIL is fighting lymphoma. My Mom had breast cancer but she got the "all clear" which I'm so thankful for.
Me too. I've had breast cancer. My aunt had colon cancer and my uncle had bladder cancer. We all beat the odds and got the all clear. Now my uncle has colon cancer. In fact he is in hospice care right now. He's got anywhere from hours to weeks to live. It's the pits.
