I hate being short

My DH is 5'2" and I know he is not happy with his height. I am 5'6" and DS 11 is already 5'5". The worst is trying to get shoes for them. DH is a size 6, and DS is a size 13 (this week  ). Oh yeah, buying just about any clothes for DH is an ordeal. Why is it that women's sizes come in petites, and men's sizes come in big and tall, but you can't get a petite equivalent for men?

Count ne in too. My 8year old DD will pass me up soon. She'll be tall like DH. I will rely on them to tell me what's in the top cupboards and on top of the fridge. You inspired me to start a fun Friday thread. Let's think positive. The good points of being short.

I am 5'2" and hate being short also, I have to use a step stool to reach everything or ask my hubby to get it for me. :(

The world is not made with short people in mind. I have to keep stools in all the rooms to reach anything. I even have to carry a stool around with me at work if I have any reaching to do that day. DH is 6ft 4in and he will tease me by holding up the things I am reaching for saying "Is this what you want?"

Browneyes, I always thought you were tall. At least you looked tall compared to Lilo and Stitch.

I never, never have to hem my Capri pants!:p :p :p They are the perfect length to wear as regular pants.

I wish I was shorter. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side.:p

I never liked being short. But when I was in a car accident my lack of height kept me from getting hurt. The car crumpled in at the center post, which was behind my seat by about half an inch because I sit so close to the steering wheel to reach the pedals. So now I don't complain as much about being short, because things could have been really different if I wasnt. But I definitely don't like being trampled in the halls at school, or not being able to reach stuff in my house. I've become an expert at moving chairs to where I need them to stand on so I can reach something. And at dad's we have a stepstool since he's only 5'6 and the person who lived in the house before him was 6'.

I am now the shortest person in my whole family. My DS has passed me and so have all my neices and nephews. I am almost 5'2" and I wish I were a few inches taller. Capri pants look goofy on me.

I used to feel tall at 5'8 but with my boys now being 6'2, 6'4, and 6'6, I definetly feel short!!!:p

Oh, Kitty! You're lucky! If I could pick a height it would be 5' 7" so your height is great.

My sister used to taunt me by singing "short people" too. Then I got revenge--I grew 1/2" taller than her! :p But at 5' 4 1/2", I still feel short. :(

PD, when are you gonna say 'Average is sexy?':(
You're anything but average, MJ.:) PD might qualify you as being short since he's so tall.:teeth:

I hate being short, too. :( I always wanted to be 5'5".
My DH is short, too, and I thought my boys would be short, but they are catching up to me already.

I love being short! The world is a roomier place..... airline seats, furniture, cars, etc. never feel too small to me. :D

I love my 5'3/4" wife (don't let her try to tell you she's 5'1")

She's the perfect height for me.

I hate being short too. I'm almost 20 and am 4' 11" and people think I'm about 13 or 14. RARRR! And I can never reach anything in stores which can be really frustrating.

coqui!!!!

I guess he is including me in the short then Shannon. Thank goodness, I am relieved now.:teeth:
