Just finished a 12 hour drive to nowhere. Left home last night at 4:30, expected to be to NH by 11:00pm. Traffic was crawling and came to a complete stop. Apparently, there was a stolen car being chased, three guys in the car took off when stopped by police, driver shot at the cop, cop shot back and killed the driver and the two passengers took off into the woods. Closed down I-84 in CT for hours. We literally moved 5 miles in 5 hours. Couldn't even get off because there was no way to get to the exit but wait in all the traffic. Finally got to the next exit and decided to just turn around and come home to NJ. Next long weekend...November :headache:

This is the second time I was headed north and got stuck in the middle of a high speed chase. Last time I had my niece with me and a teen had stolen a car and actually passed up on the shoulder as the cops chased him. They threw down spike strips in the road and we saw him handcuffed against the car a little later.

Oh crap. :headache:

I live in San Diego and I have a friend through WWF (words with friends) that I have in my que that I play scrabble with ... last night on the 'chat' portion she posted to me how horrible the traffic in CT was due to some incident. She lives in CT, took her hours to get home from work. So this must have been what she was talking about. :headache:

Well yesterday morning, my DH had a meeting in the town over from us ... well actually it is all cities here. Anyway, he left at 7:30am to drive 10 minutes. He just jumps on the highway, goes one exit and he is there. Not Friday morn, get this, there was an accident at 2AM that the highway was still cleaning up at 7AM and took him ONE FULL HOUR to go 10 minutes. The meeting was at 8am, he arrived at 8:30am. :headache: This accident did not involved any people. Two tractor trailers full of car engines collided and overturned ... I guess there were engines and engine parts all over the highway. :headache:

GOOD LUCK IN NOVEMBER! :thumbsup2

Yeah, Connecticut roads were having a rough night last night. On I-95 a tractor trailer was stopped and searched because the owner of the trucking company reported suspicious activity to police with the driver. They thought the truck might be filled with explosives. FBI searches concluded that there were none found, thank goodness.

I know it's just one of those things that happen. It just sucks when you are trying to get somewhere and not moving for hours. At one point, I was on the phone with my sil to see if she had heard anything and I looked out my window and there was a man standing next to the car. I screamed :rotfl:
He was just walking to stretch his legs apparently, but he almost put me into cardiac arrest.
