See, in my back molars on each side, there were these deep grooves (not decayed cavity things though) so the dentist said I should get them filled in so I wouldn't get cavities. (they were naturally like that). So today, I went to the dentist, and the dentist was like ok, it looks like we have some cavities to fill. To me that meant like cavities that had to be filled with the black stuff. I've never had a cavity before, and I would like to keep it that way. I felt special when I was little and my friends had to get cavities filled, and I had fine teeth.

Anyway, the doctor ( I was looking up the whole time so I really didn't see what the dentist used) was drilling in my tooth and it tasted and smelled awful ( :( ) Then the dentist put this thing against my tooth that looked like a gun with an orange thing around the handle, sort of. It made look a boop................boop..................boop noise. I didn't know what the dentist was doing, so I was getting scared. My teeth still kind of hurt (more like the gum and under neath the gum on one side)

My mom explained to me what really happened when we left, and I felt so much better. :)

Sorry to hear that your experience was not as you had expected.
Glad to hear you are doing a bit better now though. :)

That's awful! Poor Kiki! :( I'm so sorry, and I hope you feel better soon! I hate going to the dentist too. My mom told me that whenever she went to the dentist as a child, the visit was basically to find out how many cavities had to be filled that time. *shudder* My parents have made sure that we take care of our teeth for just that reason. :D

Feel better soon!

That's like that with my parents too! I just had dinner, and I couldn't chew that hard, but luckily it was macaroni :)

Aww Kiki!!! :( Dentist appointments can be the worst!

Feel Better!!! :bounce:

P.S. Did you know the electric chair was invented by a dentist? lol

I didn't know that! Where did you find that out?

Sorry you had to go through that. I've always hated the dentist too. They always make my gums bleed and it's so disgusting! I also hate going to the orthodontist because I've had braces twice and they were always doing so many things in my mouth and most of the time I didn't even know what they were doing.

<font color=blueviolet size=3>Aww Katie! I had the deep grooves in my teeth too & i had to get them filled for the same reasons. Luckily, i haven't had a cavity for... oh man, i can't even remember it's been so long (knock on wood!), but i remember how much it hurts & stuff... :( I really hate going to the dentist... blahhh... hope your teeth are feelin' better in the morning!! :)

im sorry!! :(

i dont like dentists very much...and orthos are ok..as long as they dont do something really weird!

I hope you feel better...i hate getting cavities filled!

Thanks everyone. My teeth are feeling better now. But last night, I had a dream that I was eating something, and part of my tooth came out!! I have really weird dreams!! :)

I've had a dream like that before too! Except in my dream, a couple of my teeth fell out and when I woke up, I thought it really happened and I was so upset. But then I realized all my teeth were there.

It could be worse. I had to go to surgery and get my wisdom teeth pulled and they had to slit part of the back of my gum so my 12 year old moulers could come in correctly. I couldn't chew that well for days and it was about 1 1/2 weeks before I felt back to normal.

Sorry!:( My dentist is also my orthodontist, and he uses that little gun thing w/ the orange thing around the handle all the time when he does stuff to my braces. I have no clue what it's for. I hate the dentist too. i'm glad your teeth are feeling better.:)

Does anyone else's dentist talk to you while he's working on your teeth? I hate it cuz he's like asking me questions and I feel really stupid cuz he has stuff in my mouth so I can't talk. That bothers me so much!

LOL nsyncraider, my dentist does that all the time. I try to answer them and all you hear is some weird noises come out of my mouth.

And one time, my orthodontist was fixing stuff in my mouth while he was talking to these other orthodontist helper people. They were laughing and joking and I was so afraid that since he was laughing he would slip and scrape my mouth with the thing he was using!

I was thinking the same thing! He was telling me to keep my tongue away from 'that side', but I didn't know what side he was talking about. Then he was talking to the hygenist and asking for these things that looked like and upside-down 'L' with black stuff on the end. When he would go to drill I kept thinking he would drill my tongue!

lol- yea i've been wondering the same thing! like my ortho./dentist (same person for me) always is like "how's school?" while she has her hands in my mouth! how exactly do they expect us to talk like that? lol

Kiki- i found out that electric chair fact at school- was up on a bullentin board- lol- kinda freaky...:)
