I guess you can figure it out by my screen name....

Funny how we cant resist but the OP has come and gone- he has not posted anything since- he is still on post #3--

shhhhh...maybe he is lurking... :ssst: waiting to SPRING up and get us all worked up again! :yay:

Maybe I should PM him again and call him a troll like I did before........... :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

I haven't read all of the posts, but are you my husband?

Seriously, are you?

We just came back from the World and the kids and I had a w.o.n.d.e.r.f.u.l time. DH, however, well, he was polite and a martyr.

I can't wait until the kids are a little older. I'll take them myself and we'll have another magical time.

I am truly sorry that you had such a bad time. I can relate to your situation.

I have a large number of male friends that hunt, fish, and are "athleticly" involved in sports. For me, I don't like any of that. I don't like guns, no patiance(sp?) to fish, and the idea of sitting and watching football or basketball on the TV is worthless, I'd rather mow the lawn. I'm not a geek, just not into those typical "male" things. So when I do go to friends homes that are envolved in these things, I am polite listening to their stories on hunting, fishing or some wiz bang athletic thing they've done ect....and as far as watching games on TV, I will because they are my friends.

I've been to Paris, been down the river on a boat, the Louve, and DLP. It was ALL fun. I did it with my family.

Now, take my advice on this......try Disney one more time. However this time, get envolved in the planning, the Dis boards are a great place to learn the do's and dont's of going to Disney. Disney is not a sit down vacation, it's a get up and experience vacation, FAMILY envolved event!

Back from Disney World, a few thoughts and comments...

This was a tough week for me. I am not a Theme Park guy, and really didn't want to go at all.

But, the wife and kids all were up for it, so I went along for the ride, all the time thinking that for the same money, we could be in Paris cruising the Seine.

So, Disney World is top shelf, anything they do, they do right. From getting you out of the parking lot to the smallest construction details, the physical plant is top shelf.

The crowds were outrageous, the lines were stupid, and the cost of everything from food to junk was ridiculous.

We are talking $42/day just to get into the park, six people six days, the admission tickets were $1500 for us. Add on airfare, hotel and food, and we easily could have gone someplace magnificent for the same money.

All in all, Grumpy hated it and everybody else loved it.

I sure don't expect anyone here to agree with me, but this was the most torturous seven days of my life.

Please please people, go somewhere else on your vacation.

You sound just like my father there. He acted like he despised everything when we went to DLR four years ago, but once we were on the rides he had a blast. My dad never went to the Disney parks as a kid, so I think it was a real treat for him, us going.

When it came to shopping or paying at the entrance he moaned and groaned but when we went on Haunted Mansion or Splash Mountain, you would think he was a kid the amount of fun he was having.

I think that if you had tried to forget about the expenses and where you could have gone, you could have had a wonderful trip at the park. Just loosen up a little, look how much fun your family is having and try to get in to it :cloud9: You'll have a great time if you ever go back to the park, I'm sure :)

Bravo OP, you got a reaction out of all of us... but it just makes me LOVE Disney even more... I just feel really sorry for your kids. I do hope they enjoyed themselves even if you did not. And I will have the time of my life too, with all my loved ones beside me.... :cool1:
