We are missing the room only discount offer by one day at the front end, and free dining by 2 days at the other end! Ugh. What are the chances that there will be some sort of amazing offer for those few days in between?

That is correct, but the free dining dates do not begin until the 25th.

It sounds like the room only offer ends the day before they get there (so it ends on the 14th) and that free dining starts two days after they leave (so it starts on the 25th). That means that they cannot use either discount!

That does stink OP.

We are arriving on Aug. 11 and departing on Aug. 22. Our YES tickets are purchased as well! Maybe this will make you feel better...........I had hoped to make ressies using the room only discount code and they would only give the discount on Aug 11, 12, 13 and 14. On the 15th the rates went back up! NO MORE DISCOUNT. I was always under the impression that the discount would carry over as long as you booked on the last day. But not so with me. I tried several times with different CM and resorts.

So needless to say we are without reservations right now. Still trying to decide where to stay. Possibly waiting for 60 days out to book Bonnet Creek.

Just remember that you are saving a lot of money by buying YES tickets. If you did the "dining plan" you would need to pay full price for both the room and tickets.

I think that only works for free dining packages, not room only reservations.

Just to elaborate on the differences between the two types of discounts...

When you book a free dining deal, only your check-in date is what comes into play. So if your trip is Sept. 1-10 and the free dining is valid from Aug 20-Sept 1, you can get free dining for your entire stay. If free dining were offered from Sept 5-20, you would not be eligible for free dining because your check-in day is not a free dining date.

For a room discount, only the actual days included in the promotion are discounted. You can use a room discount to book a room only stay OR you can use it to book a package. So if your stay was Sept. 1(Sat.)-10(Mon.) and your room code is valid for Mondays-Thursdays only, you would pay rack rate for Sept 1,2,7,8 & 9 and your discount would apply to the nights of Sept.3-6.

Same here! We arrive 8/19 and leave 8/26. We miss both discounts too.

This has nothing to do with your post but your kids look almost identical to a set of boy girl twins in my DS's class at school. I had to do a double take when I saw the pictures. The girl wears glasses too.

It's really unusual for Disney to not have some sort of discount available. They rarely overlap but they often run consecutively. I would not expect to see a new room-only offer to come out for the fall until the booking window closes for the current offer. That deadline would be 6/14/12.

In the meantime, do you have AAA? You might be able to get a slight discount using your membership. You might have to be a little flexible with your resort choice and the room location, but the discount ranges from 10%-20%.

Keep an eye open and watch the Code Watch subforum on the Resorts board. There's still hope.
