I guess the Happiest 50th Celebration will go into Dec?

I just got some planning documents from Disney for our trip in Dec. 2006. It mentioned that we will get to experience the 50th Happiest Celebration on earth. I guess I was under the impression that the official celebration was ending in October or November. So, I'm hoping this will mean that the castle will still be decorated? I wonder if they will have any pins, etc. for the 35th anniversary, which is also in that time frame. I remember when we went Dec. 1996 for the 25th.

I'm now curious about the end date for the celebration. I had heard that it was 'officially' ending the end of Sept. I had been thrilled that it was going to last until Nov since I'm traveling with another mom and her dd and they didn't get to take part in that...I've been several times already this year, so did it. But then I read it was ending in Sept. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Everything I have seen recently makes it appear that it ends on 9/30/06. I would do some double checking if I were you.

I've seen people posting 9/30/06 and even read on other websites that 9/30/06 was the official end; however, I've also seen other literature say the end would be Nov. 5th. That date made sense to me because Nov. 5th would be 18 months exactly. This is supposed to be an 18 month celebration, Right! All of the Disney commercials and literature have stated that fact. The celebration officially started on May 5th 2005.

That being said, it wouldn't suprise me if Disney extended the celebration another month or so.

I do know we were offered complimentary ME for our trip, beginning 11/30/06, if this helps at all.

and plan to be there in November. I asked a CM when I was there 2/6/2006 and he said the castle decor comes down in October. I was glad I was there to get pix. My family will miss it.

November 5 was the original end-date for the celebration, and then they moved it to September 30. All they've said beyond that is that ME will continue to the end of the year -- NOT that the celebration will continue to the end of the year.

I wondered the same thing, if it end's Sept. 30th and they start taking the Castle decor down, will it be blocked by scaffolding etc. We are checking in Oct. 1st, that will really stink if the Castle is a wreck the whole time we're there.

Does anyone know if this means that Cinderellabration, and the Lights, Action, Motor stunt show will be done in September or November? Or are they staying there permanently?

Magical Express. Disney will bring you from the airport to your hotel and from your hotel back to the airport.

Duh, that makes sense. I just could not figure out what they could be. I feel silly. I didn't realize that the Magical Express was something linked to the 50th Anniversary. I thought it was something new they were doing permanetly. We are coming the second week in Dec. and were offered Magical Express.
