I guess Rush Limbaugh Is Relevant.

Can you provide a link to that? I'd like to see where that was said? Or is this another twist or inference?

I believe I started the inference. It doesn't take a link or an Einstein to realize that when President Obama refers to a radio talk show host, its clear that the guy bugs him. If Limbaugh is someone our President finds so ridiculous, stupid, unworthy, and not worth his trouble, he'd no doubt not mention him. If he's going to reference Limbaugh as somebody not to listen to, then he had better be prepared for a whole lot of people to be tuning in and doing just that.

So I can't provide a link, just a hunch.

The very idea of universal healthcare and punishing the wealthy for being successful and spreading their hard earned money to other sless fortunate seems to speak volumes for me.
INCOME REDISTURBUTION = SOCAILISM

Hillary's healthcare policy was much closer to universal health care than Obama's (which was a plus factor for me when choosing between the two).

I still don't understand how you would vote for a known socialist over a candidate who you were not quite sure were they stood. Did you really think McCain would have made any steps toward socialistic health care?

Oh, I don't know Faye, did I make this up? "Get the information you seek straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak, rather than those who interpret it to further their own agenda". Your words.

Yes, my words, preceded by "if you want my interpretation:" meaning, obviously, that my interpretation of what I thought Obama meant (since that is what you asked me for in the post from you that I quoted and was replying to) was to follow. Here is what you posted, in case you forget: "Also, why don't you tell us what you thought he meant. Go ahead, I'm listening."

Did you seriously not understand that, and you thought I was telling you to "get the information you seek straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak, rather than those who interpret it to further their own agenda"??? If so, I really don't know what to say to you. It should have been obvious that I was giving my interpretation since I said, well, "if you want my interpretation".

McCain is known for falling in line with democrats and apparently is falling right back in line with them as we speak. I am not sure how he got the nomination and I only voted for him because in my eyes he was the lesser of the two evils. You know I cannot really say why I like Hilary but after her interview with O”Riely I found her quite endearing. I guess you can say I drank the Hilary kool aid. I really thought my like for her was going to cause my husband to commit me.

That's nice. I thought calling someone a liar was not really a disboard approved practice. :confused3

I didn't call her a liar. I didn't use the word "liar". You did.

I said she was making stuff up, which she obviously was, since at no time did I mention TheresaNJ by name in any of my posts, so how could I have possibly said that she personally thought ANYTHING about ANYTHING, which is what she said I did.

First of all income redisturbution does not equal socialism.

On Obama, Socialism and tax policy.
By Lynn Sweeton October 22, 2008 9:51 AM |

WASHINGTON--John McCain is going after Barack Obama again on Wednesday --painting him as a Socialist because he told "Joe the Plumber" he wanted to spread the wealth. Brace yourself, but there are "socialistic" elements in our civic life already.

What Obama is doing is raising questions about tax equity. That happens all the time. To suggest that makes one a Socialist--an inflammatory word in U.S. politics--is nutty.

As retired Gen. Colin Powell, the former Secretary of State said Sunday, "Taxes are always a redistribution of money."

The U.S. already has a progressive federal income tax structure. Those with higher incomes already pay more. The nation has Medicare--nationalized, subsidized health insurance for seniors as well as some others. Congress just approved a bail-out that partly nationalized banks--a deal Republicans and Democrats supported.

After Powell endorsed Barack Obama on Sunday, he talked to reporters about sticking the "Socialist" label on Obama, and he made some points that I think should not be lost, so I am posting them here.

"A couple of weeks ago, in the middle of the crisis, the campaign said 'we're gonna go negative', and they annouced it, 'we're gonna go negative' and attack his character through Bill Ayers," said Powell.

"And now I guess the message this week is we're gonna call him a socialist. Mr. Obama is now a Socialist, because he dares to suggest that maybe we oughtta look at the tax structure that we have. ....

"Taxes are always a redistribution of money. Most of the taxes that are redistributed go back to the ones who pay it. In roads, in airports, in hospitals, in schools, and taxes are necessary for the common good....

"...There is nothing wrong with examining what our tax structure is, who should be paying more, who should be paying less. For us to say that makes you a socialist, I think is an unfortunate characterization that isn't accurate, and I don't want my taxes raised, I don't want anyones taxes raised.

Pesident Obama does not want universal healthcare or National Healthcare.

He wants affordable heath care to be available to all.

From his website:

Barack Obama will make health insurance affordable and accessible to all:
The Obama-Biden plan provides affordable, accessible health care for all Americans, builds on the existing healthcare system, and uses existing providers, doctors and plans to implement the plan.

Obama will lower health care costs:
The Obama plan will lower health care costs by $2,500 for a typical family by investing in health information technology, prevention and care coordination.

Promote public health:
Obama and Biden will require coverage of preventive services, including cancer screenings, and will increase state and local preparedness for terrorist attacks and natural disasters.

DH is self employed.
Our health insurance is over $18,000 a month!
That is over $200,000 a year just for health insurance!

Would we like more affordable health care?

Definatly!

Are you serious? You and your "DH" (I guess that means husband) actually pay $18,000.00 per month for health insurance?

Yeah as relevant as when I tell my DD "Don't be a lemming, always form your own opinion". I guess the lemmings are relevant to.

Rush is a laughable fool. And anyone who lets anyone else feed them their opinion is a fool as well.

Don't be lemmings people-Form your own opinion.
Accept nothing as Fact except that which you have learned on your own.

Yes, Our 2 adult sons are also part of the company and that is what we pay for us and our children and their families.

When a person is self employed they do not get a group break.
