I was not that impressed with what IOA adventure has done with Harry Potter. I wanted MORE! Yes it was crowded, I expected that, but everything was very cramped. All the stores were about the size of an average living room (wand store an average bedroom) Hogsmeade was beautiful to look at but only about a block long. It really seems that Universal "shoehorned" in Harry Potter into a tiny space.

Right next to Harry Potter Land is some really lame carnival games nobody was playing in the Dark Continent. Why didn't IOA put more HP stuff there? I don't know, I guess I'm just not drinking their Kool-Aid (or is that Butterbeer?)

Rumour is...more is coming. They couldn't spend all their money on the initial investment until they got an idea of how people would respond. Now that crowds have returned, you will see more over the next few years...some of which should be HP related.

I was most turned off by the huge crowds on the day we went. I felt like I couldn't really enjoy all the details because it was wall to wall people. Otherwise I really enjoyed it though. Maybe next year there will be a little less people when we go so we can go slower and enjoy it more.

JK Rowling played a factor in the scale of the area as well. She wanted the area to be as accurate to her vision as possible.

I love Harryland overall, but I do not like the fact that two out of the three rides are just old, retooled attractions that rarely even have lines. Oh well, FJ makes up for a lot of that.

Hp's author JK wanted it to scale like she had imagined so that's why the stores are so small.

I think what they should do is make a tent like in TGOF so when you walk in it's huge.

Scale is cool, but build more! Like The Leaky Cauldron, Diagon Alley, Knockturn Alley, Gringots, The Forest, Weasley's Home, even Privet drive would be cool. Like I said before, MORE!

And I agree that retooling old rides is lame. The Day-Glo orange and sky blue coasters don't give me a Harry Potter vibe at all.

The issue besides the obvious size of land restrictions with building all those things you listed(except the forest) is that the WWoHP is centered around Hogsmeade. The Leaky Cauldron, Gringots, Knockturn Alley are all in Diagon Alley. You can't combine Hosgmeade/Hogwarts and Diagon Alley and have it fit at all, at least not in cannon and Potter fans as well as JKR are all about our cannon. There was enough fan flipout over Ollivander's having a "branch office" in Hogsmeade for the park as it was(I'm just semi-ok with it :rolleyes1).

The only way to make anything Diagon Alley work, besides a whole lot of "branch offices" is if they go through with plans to expand WWoHP into what is left of Lost Continent. Since the Hogwarts Express is stationed on the LC side of the WW then they can run the storyline that the expanded section is London(Diagon Alley) then the Express takes you to Hogsmeade just like in the books.

Personally I loved the WWoHP as it is, of course I'd love more added to it, as long as the add ons don't take away the authenticity of the land. There are few things from Hogsmeade they could add to keep it to cannon such as the Shrieking Shack. I just don't want to be wandering through a village in Scotland and running into a store that's supposed to be in London. Call me a Potter dork, it's true and I admit it, but I grew up immersed in this world with Harry and I don't want it messed about so it looks like all 7 books vomitted in the middle of an Orlando theme park.

I think they need to stick to things around Hogwarts like the Forbidden Forest and Shrieking Shack. There are enough possibilities with those two areas to put up a few new rides. The Forbidden Forest itself could hold countless experiences.

I agree Leaky Cauldron!! Full on Diagon Alley!!!!

The Dark Forest would be amazing!

I think more would be great but I actually love the fact that it was built to scale. Makes me feel like i'm in the book.

IMO, what WWOHP lacks is their main characters walking among the crowd for a photo op... I know JKR specifically was against this, but for me, going to Hogsmeade and Hogswarts and not see (in person) Harry, Hermione, Ron, Snape, Voldemort, Draco, etc... is like going to Disney and not see Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald and Goofy... It kind of felt empty...

You're preaching to the choir with that one.

Yeah, I think they SHOULD build a Diagon Alley and a Knockturn Alley as well.

But I'm of the belief that you could easily do a stand-alone HP theme park. Easily. And man, would it be well-attended.

Oh please no. Sorry, but Harry is not Mickey Mouse. The last thing I want is some Orlando college student walking around with a fake scar on his head and a bad British accent pretending to be Harry Potter.

The whole theme of the Wizarding World is that muggles are being allowed in Hogsmeade for the first time. And well, you're never going to see Voldemort posing for pictures in Hogsmeade with a bunch of muggles.:rotfl: Actors walking around playing the major characters would just take away the authenticity that Universal busted their butt to get so right.

I have to throw in a "me three" here.

As an aside, can you imagine the bottlenecks if there were character meet and greets in Hogsmead?

I agree. The line for butterbeer is crazy enough.
