:scared1:

I just returned from Disney, and I guess I had a brain fart.
Scenerio: last ride of the night, Halloween MNSSHP, Peter Pan after a 5 minute wait.
I snapped some pictures.
Now, when riding, HM, POTC and several other rides, I heard the announcement: No flash photography please....and so I never took pictures on those rides. But since there was no such announcement here I thought it was ok.
Stepping off the ride, a woman proceeded to tell me pictures aren't allowed, and even when I explained my confusion..she was still really nasty.
It was an awful way to end the evening, especially since I was genuine in my apology.
No flames please...of course I read the boards and I should have known better..but I guess I just wasn't thinking.
Anyone else ever get yelled at?

Only once that I can think of when I wasn't actually using the flash anyway. But that was years ago.

I wouldn't worry about it. I imagine that it was embarrassing for you, but I'm fairly certain that you'll be careful in the future. Outside of that incident, I hope you had a great time. :)

Was this woman a cast member or just a visitor? I know I've taken pictures on Peter Pan. Maybe she wasn't enjoying the party!

Not a CM.
But I did have a great time regardless....

I'm sorry if I seem dumb, but why no pictures. We snapped loads of flash photographs, I didn't know we weren't supposed to, never heard anyone say not to and never got told off either. We took loads in Small World and the Donald ride in Epcot as our special needs son loved those rides and we wanted him to have something to remember them by.

i've taken pictures in both peter pan and IASW before - i've never heard the announcement that you're not supposed to on these 2 rides... :confused3

See any lime green paraphernalia hanging off of her? Judging from some of the irate posts I've read when it comes to taking pictures on the attractions, she was probably a DISer! ;)

I would think that flash photography would distract other riders and take away some of the magic of the ride for them. I think it would me... :cool2:

Nonetheless, I do think that woman was unnecessarily rude to attack you that way. I guess it's happened to most of us at one time or another. Some people are unhappy and just waiting for an opportunity to take it out on someone else.

I also have a picture in PPF. I know for a fact, any ride I heard the please no flash photography announcement in, I did not do it. So that means I didn't hear it on there. Does it mean it wasn't announced, nope, but I didn't hear it.

Yea, my only problem with others taking flash pictures is the fact that it's a dark ride. My eyes are adjusted to the darkness and then *FLASH* ahh I'm blind! Try buying a video camera and taping the ride to experience it after you leave.

Flash photography is not allowed on any ride. It distracts from other's enjoyment and revels things that are supposed to be hidden in the dark.

To me it is common sense, don't use a flash in places where it is supposed to be dark. I don't see the appeal of taking pictures on rides anyway, enjoy the ride and make real memories instead of concentrating on taking pictures and missing half the ride.

I agree with the last poster...We were on POTC one time and the family in front of us was snapping away with a flash. When she took pictures to the front right of her it wasn't so bad, but when she turned around and flashed the camera right in my face to get the stuff on the left (she was on the right side of the boat)...I was blinded by the flash. I asked her nicely to please stop and she pretended not to understand. So I then asked not so nicely and she said something to the person in front of her and stopped.

Remember we're there for everyones enjoyment!:)

On many rides, it states NO flash photography, and I think internal something?? help someone?? nite mode with no flash will work in a lot of places

Why do they announce it on some rides and not others?
I guess I assume that when the cars of a ride are close together, or you're seated with other people, then taking a picture would interfere with others enjoyment, hence the announcement. I thought since you ride seperately on PP that is why there's no announcement.

I believe it mostly depends on if the CMs in the control room notice. It doesn't matter that you ride sperately on PP, you're still close to other ride vehicles and a flash affects them.

I think it's prerecorded for POTC and HM etc....

It is written in quite a few places around DW and also announced on some rides, but you are not supposed to take flash photography anywhere in rides or shows. It is irritating and annoying to everyone else there to enjoy the ride. Even when it is not specifically announced, a little common sense should let everyone know it would irritate and be distracting to others trying to enjoy the ride/show.
