I agree with the others who say that some people just don't turn in their stubs.

I run the raffle for our local baseball league. Each player has to purchase $50 worth of tickets. Its up to them if they want to sell them to recoup expenses or not.

There should be over 10k tickets in the raffle drum.....we usually end up with less than 1000.

There were about 70 kids involved, plus they sell tickets at the event for anyone who wants to buy one for a chance to win.
People had their stubs out when they drew the number, although you did not have to be present to win.

Wow. That's not fair to the people who bought tickets. There was an incident around here where a man held the ticket with winning numbers for a raffle based on the lottery numbers and the person who sold the ticket to him didn't turn in the stub or the money.

Whenever I get tickets that i have to sell for sports etc I just write the check and send the money in- I don't bother selling the tickets or handing them in with my name on them.
