 YAY!

My boyfriend and I have been dating for two years... yesterday was our 2-year anniversary, and he surprised me by walking me back to my residence hall and having a bunch of his fraternity brothers there to sing me the song and give me flowers and a letter shirt! :) It was so cute and it made me start crying lol...

When we first started dating, he told me that getting lavaliered was a big deal, not just some little thing that you do when you've been dating for a month or anything... he told me that lavaliering your girlfriend was basically a pre-engagement step saying that this is the person you plan on spending the rest of your life with... so, when I thought back to that while they were singing their song, it was really touching and I just can't believe that we are here now...

So, how about everyone else? Is that was lavaliering/pinning or whatever is like for your schools/sorority/fraternity?? Anyone else have some lavaliering or even just engagement stories that would be cute to read??? I'd love to hear them!!!  :rotfl:

That's cute :) That is what lavaliering is at my school (and most)

Here's an engagement story:

We have a homecoming basketball game at my school because we don't have a football team (lame I know lol). During one of the timeout breaks they called a girl from the band down to the floor and blindfolded her. They told her she had to walk around until she found our mascot. Little did she know her boyfriend was also on the floor and she really had to find him. Once she reached him he took the blind fold off, got on one knee and proposed! It was super cute!

Aw, those stories are both so cute!!

My school doesn't have official fraternities or sororities, just social clubs...but they act like fraternities and sororities, so what's the point? In any case, basically all they do is pledge and have a big musical show in the spring, no cool traditions like what you mentioned.

But along the lines of cute engagement stories...I was in the world's worst production of Into the Woods. (It's a long and complicated tale, involving actors choosing not to appear on stage, making last-minute costumes held together by pins and glue, and an actor dying two weeks before the first show...and I mean really dying...but I won't go into that). After the show my boyfriend speedwalked over with a huge bouquet of roses, and before I could say anything he said, "Okay...the red roses are for true love, and the white roses are for pure love, and twenty-four roses is how many hours of the day I think of you, and red and white together mean unity." And then he got down on one knee and proposed. He later told me he wanted to propose after that show because he wanted to show me that he was going to stick by me even when things sucked.

He's definitely a keeper.

Here is mine I pulled it from my myspace blog so it was from 2007:

Back in June Jake suggest that we start saving for a trip to Disney to celebrate our 7 year anniversary (all part of his plan). For those of you who know me, I love Walt Disney World it is my favorite place. We went down early (our annverisary is Nov 29) since I work retail that would be the closest we could go. So we went Nov 4 thru Nov 9.

Anywho I heard about the Coral Reef which is a resturant that is apart of the aquairum in Epcot. One side of the resturant is the actual tank. Anywho I heard if you contacted the right people then you could have a personalized menu and diver in the tank hold up a sign. Well I schedule to have this done as a annverisary gift to Jacob. So I sent in photos and lyrics to our song "sh-boom" for the menu and had a saying for a sign made. So we get there and the place is just beautiful and amazing. When we get there we are seated right next to the tank, were the gaint sea turtle happens to be sleeping. Our waitress gave us our special menus which Jacob is suprised by. While we wait for our food, Jake ask me questions about the divers becuse I had told him about them before the trip; not wanting to give to much away I play dumb. I am excited to see Jacob's face waiting to see the diver. Finally I see the diver hop in, he swims towards us then swims away. The diver playful hids from us, Jake said the diver was getting everyone's attention and pointing towards us but I could not see him (diver). Finally he comes to us and pulls out his sign which reads "Savannah I love you" and everyone in the restaurant says who is savannah? & I am thinking thats NOT my sign...wait a second I am Savannah. Then the diver flips the sign which reads "Will you Marry me?" Jacob then get down on his knee and proposes. I start crying and of course I said yes. Everyone in the restaurant cheered and the diver tossed the shells in the tank. It was truly romantic and magical. So I tired to suprise Jake but in the end he really suprised me.
So those of you who are wondering the wedding date is not set, it will be roughly about 2 years (2 and a half-ish) away. We need to finish school first.
