Hey Dianna!!! I just noticed your trip report link in your siggie over on our thread
Had to come by and subscribe![]()
So sorry with all the bad luck you have after each trip and I am very sorry about your job![]()
Glad you were able to have a good time despite it and get out of the funk![]()
Really enjoying your report.![]()
Great start!! Waiting for more!!
So sorry to hear of all your bad luck. As a matter of fact I can relate to the lay off one...I was laid off 10 days before one of my Disney trips. It was one where I took the kids with a friend, her kids and my sister. I was so sad. But Hubby just said go...the trip is already paid for and you saved your spending money too. Go, have fun!I love my hubby!
I sent out resumes before the trip so I had to check in with hubby every day and see if I had to schedule any interviews but other than that Disney made me forget my job loss for the time i was there. It was a great trip!
The next trip same people went and the first night we were there my nephew smashed up my sisters brand new car!It was very stressful, when you're so far away and you can't see them or touch them to be sure their ok it's not fun.
But we were assured (after several phone calls) that nephew was ok. (he wasn't when his mother got home!
)
Glad to hear you got out of your "funk"!

Well kind of.
You know that feeling you get before you go on vacation? That walking on sunshine sensation?I had it. BIG TIME! I was telling anyone who would listen that I had X days until I was in DISNEY BAYBEE!!! Then I jinxed myself with conversation.

I got to read the first 2 chapters and you are certainly off to a great start! You are a wonderful writer and I'm enjoying it! I'll have to finish reading later, as I am at work.![]()
I like how you shouted out when you crossed the FL border.![]()
Love the trip report. Sorry about your troubles.
Due to massive layoffs in my company (and industry) I just lost my job that I loved. I am still taking my Disney trip in November. My DH likes Disney but mostly goes for me...so this time to save money I will be going alone.
Hopping on board for your TR. I'm loving it.
We're hoping to take our 3 DSs and the new little one in Jan. or Feb. of 2010, if the economy allows. So far away....your report is making me excited...lol
Can't wait to read more.
Great trippie so far! Sorry about the layoffs. I'm glad the Disney magic got through and you enjoyed your trip!
I agree on the Pop - parking lot view is the best 'cause the last thing you want at the end of the day is to have to drag yourself halfway across the resort to get to your room!
wow I have missed a LOT already!! Sorry I slacked on getting over here. Been busy with a sick doggy and then work today didn't give me a chance to DIS at allBut you are off to a great start!! I'm glad you got your Wataburger and Flippers!!
It's all good for the no pics on the Pop. I think most of us know what it looks like anyways
That stinks that you got put way back away from the parking lot though. I think you got a room right around where we had last year and that is one long HIKE to the parking lot. *sigh* I agree that the parks were more crowded this year than previous septembers. What did you think of the interactive part of SE? We LOVED it! The video is just hilarious!! YOur dinner at Le Cellier looks scrumptious. I really hope to be able to eat there one of these days.
Looking forward to hearing more![]()
Hey there,
First I want to tell you that I can relate when I get back from our Disney trip November 1st, I have no idea where I will be working of if I will be working. But the trip is already paid for and we have been saving for two years. So the hubby said that we are still going to go and we will leave our trouble at the Disney entrance gate and pick them up on our way out.![]()
Second, I agree with Whataburger being the best fast food around. I live in Texas and I have a whataburger around the corner from my house so we have it often.
I am really enjoying your trip report.
That is cool you ran into another Diser at Le Cellier and I love that you shouted to her when you realized it, because you were so excited![]()

"I just got back from 14 days at Disney and found out that when i go in to work tomorrow AM, they will be letting everyone go and closing hte doors"
what a way to come back from vaca!
the fact is i have been quietly looking since April as we have all been seeing the handwriting on the wall. in march they laid off 25% of the office. 1 month ago the had a second round laying off 30% of the remaining office (we are a construction company with field staff running projects, thus they were not touched). While at WDW yesterday, i called my recruiter to find out if i had any news to come home to with regards to job prospects. He told me my timing was uncanny as he just got off the phone with someone from my office who was told of Wednesday's impending doom. Then i received a call from a coworker this evening who knew i was coming back from vaca. They told me their boss, a partner, told them of hte official news. Then i checked my blackberry and saw the email from the Executive Committee announcing the impending doom and that there would be an officewide meeting tomorrow.
Sooo, part of me is glad i went on vaca and fully enjoyed it. Part of me is bumming we spent $7000 over 14 days and now could use that as buffer. oh well, i have been in worse situations and never fell off the planet, something will turn up. The good news is that i ahve been working with a great recruiter and do have a leg up on looking
Now THIS is how you start a GREAT trip report! You totally have me sucked in!
I love the comment you made about not having pics of Pop. That's the way I feel about MANY Disney things - they've been seen before!
Looking forward to more . . .

When we were maybe second or third in line to board, a large group entered from our left through the handicapped entrance. What I saw at that moment gave me such a rush of emotions I didn’t know what to think.
This group included several (about 15) severely handicapped young women, who appeared to be from India, or a country that shares many customs with India. Most were in wheelchairs, but transferred either by choice, or by request. Watching this moment, young women using their hands to walk – dragging limbs – being carried, made me feel sad/happy, ashamed/proud, and blessed all at the same time. Sad for these young women, but they were so happy that emotion didn’t last too long. I was happy to see them happy. Ashamed that I was so bummed about something as simple as losing my job. That’s nothing compared to what these young women (and their caretakers) go through every day. Proud to be in a place that was able to accommodate these young people with such ease. The “clammobiles” were slowed to a snail’s pace as they boarded and exited the ride. The cast members were understandably a little flustered, but helped everyone with a smile. When they were all loaded, they made a call to the exit attendants to let them know the party was coming their way. In the end, I felt blessed. My family is happy and healthy, and who can ask for anything more. Everything else will work itself out.![]()
I'm SOOOO enjoying your trip report!
This post brought tears to my eyes. How eloquently put!
Great updates!
