SO when Disney announced character meet and greets are back I got right to planning my trip for (first Solo) in 2023 ( I know a lot can change) but my daughter is down there for the first time and the only autograph they got was Jack Sparrow....... They did meet Mickey but only pictures So you cant really tell me that traditional character meet and greets are back...... And sightings Characters are huge for me I guess i will pray for more time when i can get autographs

Same here, tho when we went the meets weren't back as much as they are now, but they are huge for my family. I was just thinking about the fact that our last trip left us a little deflated. We tried to "embrace the new" and have different experiences, but something was missing. This is the first time ever the kids aren't talking about going back. We will do another trip, but maybe wait a couple of years to see if this is the new normal.

We just got back yesterday and did character meals at Tusker House, Topolino’s and Hollywood & Vine while we were there and from what I saw at other tables the characters were definitely signing at all of those meals and we received the souvenir presigned cards as well.

I'm confused - Mickey has signed our autograph book each time we've met him since "hugs" were back. We've met him at all 4 parks + Garden Grill over the weekend and he signed (as did the other characters).

They seem 100% back to normal to me. Did the character refuse to sign their books?

There are still many "Sightings" as opposed to actual meets. Pooh at Epcot, Chip/Dale at Hollywood, and Country Bears at MK were all just sightings a couple weeks ago. No regular meet with those characters or even Tinker Bell. That is NOT back to normal. The number of actual character meets (Not talking about meals) is probably half of what it was before.

We visited a few weeks ago in June. There were way more meets than 2021 but definitely still missing a number of them across the parks. My DD had her book and was happy to meet with more than previously, so hopefully in time the rest will return.

What I think this is a way for Walt Disney World to promote the characters a lot more and they are debuting this new style of character meet and greet by giving families the option of meet and greet with the certain character with a photo or an autograph in the child's autograph book and Walt Disney World sees this new style of meet and greet as a faster way to meet characters. But for certain characters that cannot sign autographs such as Buzz Lightyear they should refer to these types of meet and greets as Picture And Greets known by the nickname P&G's. I also think it's a way for Walt Disney World to make more money and to give the character actors even bigger money so they can speed up time to perform in a show. But I truly think character autographs will not disappear but this new style of character meet and greets will become popular as time goes by

Does anyone know if Alice In Wonderland and Wendy Darling are out and about? They are my two favorites, and would love to see them in a few weeks when we go :)

Alice is out in her Tea Garden in her normal spot, normal meet and great
Wendy Darling I've never seen in a meet and great in a regular spot

No clue why that would be all they found. There is way more than that. I was there July 2-7 and saw myself, signing autographs, giving hugs, posing for photos, the following
This is just those out on the street, so to speak, visible with lines and handles, etc. Not those inside like Mickey in Town Square or Anna/Elsa or Princess Fairy Tale Hall. Those are even more
Daisy Duck in Epcot
Pluto in Epcot
Goofy in Epcot
Belle in Epcot
Minnie in Epcot
Alice in Epcot

So anyway, they missed quite a few. Maybe not all traditional character meet and greets but way more than 1

Oh, one more: regarding Pluto in Epcot - where is he found there? He is my son's favorite, I'd love for him to be able to see him! Thanks!

I found him near the front entrance, before you reach Spaceship Earth, to the right as you are walking in

The princess were signing at the WDW Royal attraction, and also at the Epcot princess locations.

If he really loves Pluto and want to do a character meal you should definitely do a Garden Grill. Pluto came around like 5 times in an hour and a half.
Or Hollywood and Vine in HS. I much prefer the food there. The lunch has Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto with seasonal outfits.

You know what though out of all the character meals the one item that I loved the best and thought the best quality was the sliced steak and chimichurri sauce at GG. And the bread rolls and whipped butter were pretty good too. Just give me bread and steak lol.
