Ok so I received an email from Disney Destination last night and it was specifically address to me and it the title was GAME ON... it listed resort offers for the dates we have priced out and saved on Disney's website but when i used this offer code there is no savings attached to it, the pricing is exactly the same as what my notes while pricing out this potential trip.

At first, I thought maybe the offer code didnt get applied but it is... The offer is in its usual place in the text box under the resort info... Then I thought shame on you Disney, trying to fool me into thinking I'm getting a deal, then I thought smart move Disney (but it didn't work on me), and 12 hours later I'm coming back to shame on you Disney.

I almost think that because I jumped at a pin code in May '12 that if they send me another pin I would jump again without really looking at the details.

Has anyone else ever received a bogus pin code from Disney before? Just curious more than anything.

Yes- I've received those too. I called and ended up negotiating a discount out of the Disney agent- it is worth a try! If at first you don't get anywhere hang up and call back until you succeed!

Was it actually a pin code? They are usually around 15 numbers long. They do send out flyers/e-mails with 3 number or letter codes and those are not usually any discount.

On the bright side, when I didn't respond, I got another "Game On" email a month of so later, with a 15-digit discount PIN attached...

My sister just received the same "Game On" email. When she phoned to ask if this was a discount, The cm did not even know what she was talking about.

It's just an advertisement flyer. It's not a discount.

That is partly my point... Don't tell me to "don't forget to mention this package code" or state "check out this magical Disney rate", if there isn't any savings attached to it. When you enter the code on the website it appears that you are getting a special deal. When in fact your are just getting rack rate.

I showed the email to a few family members at our Sunday dinner who really know nothing about Disney and when viewing the email everyone wanted to know how much of a discount they were offering. When they find out it rack rate they all felt is was deceptive at best.

i know Disney is a business and its goal is to make money and if they get people to book at rack rate it means more profit. But why be deceptive? I also realize they want track marketing campaigns but they don't need to a package code because when i clicked on the link the "code" was applied. So internally they are already tracking the campaign...

Btw. aaacher86, I'm not having a go at you... after I showed it to my family members I said the exact words ( It's just and advertisement, It's not a discount.) to them before I saw your comment. I just quoted you because I thought it funny and interesting that you used the same words to describe the email...

I admit we were excited, it's been 16 months since our last visit. Getting the fever to go again when a PIN comes by mail! It's titled Dive intoWDW savings. You get to choose between room discount or free dining. I call look at several dates, make a choice, make a reservation. Done? NOT. Went online did the online booking with the general public offer, $19.00 difference, that's it! I called today, made a plee for a better offer since I got a PIN, two actually, but didn't get anything special really. No deal, bummer. So I cancelled. I know they don't have to offer anything, but this was very trickey. Shame Shame Disney!
So if you get a PIN check it carefully. I will, if I get another.

I guess. They don't really bother me honestly. Everyone advertises. Everyone makes it look juicy. It's the same as those 'stay as low for $72 pp per day' ads we see all the time. It's not a discount, but it definitely makes it look attractive.

They don't know that you know all the ins and outs of their pricing. Someone else who gets that may be pleasantly surprised with the prices.

I can definitely see the disappointment if you were hoping for a pin though! No offense taken to anything posted - I didn't take it personally at all :cutie:

If you got the pin that has been going out lately, I try checking on different resorts. It was a tiered offer, but ASMovies (example) was only getting 5% off while the other values were getting 25%.

Just got the Game on email, so disappointed. I was so excited thinking that I had the pin that has been going around...
