I got a job!!

I graduate nursing school in a matter of days and have been super stressed out the past two months over my job search.

Just got a call and was offered the job I applied for at my top choice hospital in my top choice field (ICU/ER)! I'm so nervous and excited at the same time!

The only unfortunate thing about it is that it's a night position (work 7p-7a), which will stink for my family situation.... but we'll work it out somehow! And maybe this will get my foot in the door that I can switch to days eventually.

Totally random post, I know. But I had to share my excitement with somebody, even if it is a bunch of strangers!

I know how stressful it can be looking for a job. I quit my job a year and a half ago and was having the hardest time finding something new. Then a friend recommended me to someone he knew. I never thought I'd get an offer since it would be something of a career change - but they did make an offer and so far, it's worked out great. I started as a temp so they could see if I'd learn the job quickly. Apparently I did because they hired me on a permanent basis last June.

I start after I take boards - hopefully as soon as possible. I graduate My 6th, We're in Disney from May 7-14th. By the time we get home, I hope I have my authorization to test and can go on and quickly take NCLEX and begin work!

Funny thing is - my brother is an ER physician (not at the same hospital, though), but neither of my parents are in medical professions (my Mom was a florist and K-5 teacher, my Dad is a mechanical engineer). Everyone thinks its humorous they ended up with two medically-minded kids.
