I got a free turkey leg!!!

DH & I were ordering a smoked turkey leg for a snack at Toluca Legs Turkey stand in MGM & the Dis castmember that we ordered from said that it would be free if we gobbled for it- so we did, lol. He said that they give away 1 free leg per hour. It was a fun piece of magic in our short trip.

This happened to my son too when we were at DHS this summer. He thought it was the best thing.

Wow, that's such classic Disney service, they really know how to make you feel special. I've had CMs at the popcorn stand offer to refill my bucket without even asking when I was there just to buy a coke.

I could never work at Disney because I would want to give it away all the time just to see the reactions on guests faces! We got scooted through a special entrance at Star Tours because we were wearing our matching t-shirts we had made for the '06 trip. Yup! we're that geeky and we all couldn't wait to go to the parks dressed alike! That year we bought the PhotoPass cd!

About 5 years ago we were able to get fast pass for Test Track (they were gone for the day) by singing the Mickey Mouse March out in front of the ride. Like fools we did it!

DH . . . they give away 1 free leg per hour . . .

1) It is a good thing.
2) They do it because it is a great guest surprise (Pixie Dust).
3) It is also a case of logistics.
4) Disney can prepare and sell 109 legs per hour per turkey-leg-booth.
5) Thus, you have a turkey every hour with only one leg.
6) So, to even things out, so to speak, they give one away.

It's very nice of CM's to add a little magic of their own - even if it does not cost WDW anything or minimun (the cost of a Turkey leg or some popcorn). A smile and some Pixie dust can make the day more magical to a child (and an adult) .

We love to give away valid FP's to families for popular rides.
We have given away Soarin, Splash Mountain and Tower of Terror.

May some magic be sprinkled on those CM's who share theirs.

We have received a few Magical; Moments like this as well. Last September, we went to order some of the almonds near the American Adventure on our way to dinner at Marrakesh. They had just ran out but DH and DD decided to wait so the CM's awarded them with free nuts and a certificate. That same trip, DH and DD also were picked to get a tour of the Primeval Whirl workings and then skip th line and ride 2x in a row.

When we were there just a few weeks ago, we stopped at a cart to order some drinks and a banana. Both DD's were wearing their Snow White costumes and the CM told us that the drinks and banana were compliments of Snow White. . As we were walking away, I did notice she logged it into a book so they must keep track of each one.

we've had a few CM's give the kids free pins instead of taking back one in a trade and it REALLY made the kids day. we've also had some fun things while checking in at (i think it was ) pop century where they handed out kazoo's and we had a kazoo concert with everyone in the check in area then they gave out balloons. the kids eat this stuff up and it is terrific PR.
