This morning , Easter Sunday, at about 9:15. I see DVC on caller ID. I'm thinking , did something happen and I need to change resorts in two weeks? Nope, calling about the issues I posted before about renting points and Magical Express. So we talked a few mins and he is explaining the rules. I said yes I understand but I should have been told them two weeks ago when I first called. He starts to continue and I said ummm it's Easter morning and I need to leave for church. He replies, yes he thought I might be busy later. So the call was just to explain why the rules are in place and we should be getting the ME tags by the end of the week.

I just thought it was odd to call today for that reason.

I'm not sure I am understanding why it's odd. You had a valid question/concern and they put you in the queue for a customer service response. Isn't that a positive outcome?

Also, if it wasn't an urgent thing like a cancel or whatever, it is perfectly reasonable to say "now is not a good time" and request a call on a weekday.

I think a call on a holiday Sunday is odd.

And from the post it sounds like you only posted here about it. So to me it seemed like they were responding to a post here? Or had you written them about the problem as well?

I was unable to look up your past posts to find out more about the situation.

I wrote to them. Short version, two rooms booked at BLT, one with rented points. Called to make DME arrangements. CM took all the details, but never told me to contact other member. Waited two weeks, called to ordered more tags and then was told needed other member.

Honestly, "This is not a good time" is reasonable in many situations. In non-emergency situations, no phone caller should be assuming a right to your time, or even that you will answer. Had you been in church, hopefully your ringer would have been in its most prayerful setting and you wouldn't even have answered, right?

Similarly, if your proctologist calls to discuss test results while you're in line at McDonalds with six kids? Perfectly okay to say, "give me a hint, and can I call you back? Middle of McDonald's right now and not willing to talk about my butt." :P

The requirement to involve the owner for DME reservations should have been disclosed in your rental agreement. I imagine this scenario, where the renter is also an owner, is unusual, so I can understand how MS might not have realized they needed the owner to call in at first.

The owner is a friend. Renting goes like this, Hey Sam, got points? Looking for May 1 - May 5 studio at BLT. Yeah, that's 100 points @ $X amount. Ok, I'll put the check in the mail. Here is the confirmation number. That's about it. Yes, I trust him and he, me.

I've used his points a bunch of times over the last 7 or 8 years, but I guess never for the first part of a trip.

But as far as MS, they would say I don't see your room. Only the room with John in it, Yes, it because we are using someone else's points. Here is the confirmation number.

I'm not disputing the rules, I just wish I had been told when I first called.

That's less weird, then.

Easter Sunday in Florida wasn't a holiday? That's actually shocking to me.
AFAIK, it's not an official Holiday anywhere in the U.S. and MS is routinely open on Sundays. There are many U S citizens who are not Christian and do not celebrate Easter.

That is false information. It is not a paid holiday for Disney CMs

Might not of been a Disney CM but a contractor making the calls. I get the feeling that MS chat is outsourced due to their limited abilities.
