I got 100 dev points with my 100 contract...

We purchased 100 points at Jambo house (we arranged that we would get Jambo and not Kidani) about 10 days ago, and yesterday we called back asking about the devloper points everyone was talking about.

I know a lot of people said they weren't elligible, but we got them, and we even just made a reservation at SSR to be sure we definitely got them.

I think it may have something to do with mentioning the Steve Harvey show, so go listen to the Steve Harvey radio show!

Apparantly that gets you a $500 gift card or 100 dev. points.

My husband called as Mr. ______ (fill in the blank with our real name) and from two other numbers as Mr. Smith and Mr. Ringol and each of the guides (a Cindy and a Doug) as well as our guide Judy all gave this option.

Yup we got the credit as well....

You should call back and try, because you can get incentives added on until your papers are signed a returned so you have a few days.

Just out of curiosity for those who have posted, were your purchases add-ons or new contracts?

My understanding was that they're giving dev. points for those who are adding on, but new contracts get nada.

We just bought a new 100 point contract at AKL this weekend without developer points. We did however get the $8.00 discount per point. I asked about the developer points but was told this was only for add on contracts. After reading your post, I left a message for my guide with the Steve Harvey information. He will be back in the office on Friday. Hopefully, we can get the developer points.

My hubby did it somehow... I think they asked him if he heard it on there and he said yes because he doesn't pay attention on the phone very well (ADHD big time!)

Okay. I was just reading this thread and laughed out loud! My son has ADD, and I can CLEARLY hear that conversation!

Here's something to check out. It does state in the fine print 160 or more points, but if it wasn't mentioned in a radio broadcast, they may honor it. Just tell them you heard that if you purchase by 6/30 that you would get dev points or a $500 gift card.

We just added on 100 points at Jambo and got Oct 07 points, developer points and $8 off per point. Wow!

They told us one or the other, 500 bucks or the points, so naturally we grabbed up the points since it will allow us to do some banking for a bigger trip next year.

I called her back (when hubbie was asleep ) and was told if I purchased, I would get 100 extra points to use or bank for next year. This was if I purchased now and had a 2008 start on my contract and didn't defer my membership to start until 2009, as was another option.

I was looking at re-sales, but this option is so nice - just might go for it.

That deal sounds like it might be Jambo points that have the option of banking current year to use next year. Kidani wouldn't have bankable points yet.

I know this is a long shot, but I noticed there is a promotion running with Disney Visa. If you use your Disney Visa to pay your down payment on a DVC contract then you are eligible for $500 on your disney rewards card. Could you also get the $500 card mentioning the Steve Harvey show? So essentially you would get 500 on your disney rewards card and 500 on a visa gift card. I know this sounds too good to be true, I just wondered if anyone has tried both promotions.

I just bought 100 points at the AKV! I tried to tell my representative about the developer points info I found on this website. She said she just got clarification on the Steve Harvey promotion yesterday, and that there was misinformation and you do have to buy at least 160 points. However, she did say if I could get the info of members who had received the promotion, then I would have a better chance at getting it myself. But, she said this requires going into that member's account to be able to verify it. At this point I would love the Developer's Points (my sister is jealous I am going this year without her, and this way we could go next year without eating into the next use year's points which I am already having to borrow--long story), but the fact that everything is going through has got me on cloud 9. I don't suppose anyone who got the developer points at 100 purchase points would be willing to help me out, would they? You could send me a private message, and maybe we could work something out where you don't have to give me your private info, but could just talk with a representative directly.

Oh, and thanks for the tip about the Oct 07 use year! Because I knew to ask, my representative is looking to see if there are any still available.

And for the Disney Visa points, you have to purchase at least 160, at which time you would get the developer points anyway.
