Ok, so I am watching airfares for quite some time and found one-way for $67 each.:cool1: I was watching for the other fare to come down also to get down to orlando. I kept watching and finally found it for $87. So I bought them. Great deal huh? Well this is where it turns bad. I got paper work out tonite and the flight going to orlando actually is from orlando to home! Now I have two flights home and none for on the way down!! What do I do? I know that I will have to pay the difference from the tkt price that I have for the tkt that I need but do I also have to pay a $75 fee for changes? Thanks for any suggestions.

You may just be able to talk to a representative and explain the situation and not have to pay a fee just the difference in price of tickets. What airline are you flying?

Flying Airtran. I called and talked to airtran and they said that I it is going to cost $500 with the change and the difference in price. So much for 4 tkts for $350! I could just puke!!!

Is there by chance another airline you could fly that would be cheaper? You could use that fund from the goof for a later date?

i would try calling again and asking for a manager to see if they will help you out. Otherwise, if they change the time of the flight they usually give you the option of a refund. Knowing Airtran, there is a good chance they will change the time. Good luck. We all make mistakes. I think we get so excited with our planning that sometimes we goof :)

Definitely call again. They'll set you straight eventually. Ask for a manager if the first person doesn't help.

Sometimes they offer to waive the change fee and charge you a $15 per ticket telephone booking fee instead. If they offer that, I'd take it. $60 is a lot less than $300!

Thanks Guys! I think getting excited got me stupid!:lmao: I went ahead and bit the bullet and paid $420 to change. Someone had $10 little debbie codes that I used 2 of so I saved $20! WooHoo:) Every little bit helps. The problem with using a different airline or just buying new tkts is that in order to have your tkts saved for later you still have to pay the $300. Anyway, now I am not as excited about the trip. Oh well, it's just money! I'll chalk it up to a lesson learned. Thanks again!!:flower3:

Oh, that's a terrible lesson to have to learn the hard way! I'm feel for you - I made that mistake once, and didn't even realize it until we got to the airport in Orlando to go home! :scared1: I didn't notice it when I checked in because I did so on my old non-smart phone and there was little info displayed on the screen. This was in December, too and the flight we needed to be on was almost sold out - thank goodness it wasn't, but it was $300 per ticket! Somehow the ticket counter agent took pity on me and made some phone calls and got me on the correct flight without charging me the higher fare. I was sooooo upset with myself over that mistake, and having had that experience, I triple-check anytime I buy one-way tickets now.

Here's hoping you find some pixie dust somewhere along the way to get you excited about the trip again!

When is your trip? In the future - you would be better off waiting for Airtran to change your flight time - even if it was by 10 minutes they would cancel at no charge for you.
I have never flown Airtran that my flights have not changed by at least 10 minutes.

Also for others who accidentally do this - if you discover within 4 hours - you can cancel any Airtran flight within 4 hours of booking!
