I go to Disneyworld because...

I personally love Disneyworld ( otherwise I wouldn't be on this message board ) but I honestly go because I love what DW stands for and the atmosphere that they provide while Im there. I am not a huge fan of the characters, I guess I just look at them as an extra. Im curious if anyone else feels the way I do.

It's funny - mom and I were talking a couple weeks ago on our trip. She was laughing about how I never really cared about the characters when I was little. I wasn't afraid of them or anything, but she'd have to force me to get pictures. I was always (and still am) more like, "Oh hey! There's Mickey!" and keep walking.

I voted atmosphere and characters, but really it's the only place I've found that my teenagers don't fight. (plus dh doesn't mind giving up the remote control - talk about magical)!

I'm the same way. I'm not a big fan of the characters, but I love the atmosphere. I think Disney has gone way beyond the characters.

My wife & I are kids at heart. We ordered a planning video to discuss WDW as a Honeymoon prospect. Once we watched the video, there was no turning back. All of our trips have been very magical.

We go to WDW because:
1.There are so many things to do that neither one of us ever gets bored.
2. It's the only place my DH will participate in one of my favorite past times SHOPPING
3. We tend not to disagree on anything other than where to have a meal.
4. I feel at peace and other worldly (Disney Worldly?) when we are there.
5. I'm not at work so I'm 99% happier than any other day.
6. Little pleasuresthatI know are enjoyed by others like :listening to the piped in music and singing along,and simple things like sitting on the porch of the little store in Fort Wilderness in a rocking chair and people watching.

There are a ton of reasons why I go to WDW. Basically though, it's because I'm my happiest when I'm there. I get to be a kid again and have my picture taken with Mickey Mouse. I get to spend full days with my DH and we're able to concentrate on each other and not everything else that goes on in our lives. I can't think of any place I'd rather be.

I love everything about Disney. My DD has been twice(does not remember much--She was 3 on our last visit) and in Feb. it will be my DS first visit. I am sure we will be going back because of how much they love it in the future. It is a great excuse for me and DH to get to go!!!!
