This code talk has driven me completely insane:furious: I have called countless times to CRO and been shot down. I think they have my name and picture on every CM's computer that reads " DO NOT GIVE THIS MAN A DEAL...NO MATTER WHAT!!!" I even had a TA that was willing to help but told me that I dropped the ball by waiting too long to book...2 days:headache: I went ahead and booked a ressie for September at POP for now hoping that maybe a code fairy will visit me soon...that is if they truly exist. I've had a Disney Visa for years and have quite a few reward dollars built up so I'll pretend that is my code. As for these boards, I'm addicted but I have to cut down on consumption of the madness:surfweb: So until next time, good luck to all and take care! And if you catch a code fairy, tie them up and send them to me so I can torture them for their goodies! And I'm out!

Frosty I am so with you on this one. Where the heck is my luck. I think I have lost it forever. I just can't bring myself to make my ressies now. To think the person beside me is paying nearly half of what I am is depressing.

....agreed....

I was gonna book today...but just said "no...." And will wait - bleh.....

I agree too!

I dont want to book now, knowing that the ones next door payed 40% less than me.

If i dont get a discount i go to Disneyland Paris (then atleast some of my money goes to other people than Disney Co.)

I mean, i have been going to Disney parks for 14 years, 5 of those years has been to WDW.

Its ok with me, that they give out the code to repeat customers, but not that they also give it out to people, who only has been to Disney 1 or 2 times.

Just my 2 cents.

WDWBoundAgain=My DGS's name is Brendan too. We haven't come across that name very often. People almost always mispronounce his name and call him BRANDAN. He is only 6 YO so he answers to whatever they call him. :rotfl:

Can I join the club too? Evidently, the mouse knows he owns me. I never get any codes:mad: .

Which I can accept if it's truly the luck of the draw or marketing, etc. However, when I read numerous posts from fellow DIS'ers crowing as to the great rates they got w/the code even though they never received it or had it attached to their name I feel "cheated".

Is it rational to feel so:confused3 , of course it is. I don't begrudge people getting a good deal, just think if it's a public code; everyone should be able to book it on a first come, first served basis.

As my mom would say "if everyone else jumped off the bridge would you do it too?" Yep, if WDTC would let me.:rolleyes1

Well, If you want a discount you have two choices without the codes. Either get AAA or BUY an Annunal Pass!(which will give you approx the same as a code) That is what I do! and after spending around 100,000 bucks at disney...concierge in every deluxe resort, I FINALLY got a code! (I could have BOUGHT a DVC 10 times over!)

I do have AAA and usually have an AP:thumbsup2

Unfortunately, AAA rooms sell out quickly for the more popular resorts/times of year & AP rates aren't always offered either during the same time frames (think summer etc.).

Congrats on getting a code (perhaps I shouldn't throw in the towel yet afterall!;)
btw, we too got sick of paying thru the nose & did buy DVC:banana: ; however, we need more, more, more lol! That, and i refuse to pay triple points for the weekends; so it's off to another resort or offsite to Loews/Universal.

I know how you feel.

I actually cancelled my reservation because of it. I just can't stomach the thought of paying nearly double what many people are paying. ;)

It actually works out, because I have better use for the money. And DH didn't really want to go again this soon anyway.

If no code--no go--and no biggie! :)

Maybe next year?

Hi: I wish that I could join the disney visa, so that is a bonus for you. I am from Canada and we are not allowed to join. I used to belong to the disney club for discounts but that has gone also. The only thing I can get is a CAA which is the same as AAA, but I truly wish I could join disney visa.

I also hate to book a trip when I know that the family next door is paying 40% less than I am. So I will just have to wait for a code or spend my savings that allow a trip every three years elsewhere.

Deb.

Raven69david....again I called nothing..nilch. GRRRRRRRRRR

So I bet those lucky 40%er are laughing at our thread. :rotfl2:

I did go ahead and book Poly for Sept 15-22 Garden room w/ddp and tickets for the three of us and it was $3900.

No code for me either and no joy when I phoned WDW. They were quite crafty. I asked if there was a code attached to my name and then I was asked for loads of info and I thought I`d struck lucky. She went through all the times I`d stayed at WDW (too numerous to mention!) and then proceeded to ask for all the reservation details. Only after 10 minutes when I asked again did she tell me there was no code for me - so I thanked her politely but declined to book.
I think this has been handled badly by WDW, they seem to have alienated alot of regular customers including me.

I don't blame Disney for the promotion, I just wish their CMs could be consistent.

I'm happy for those who managed to get the right CM. :thumbsup2

I just don't have the time or energy!

Although I may try one more time. :rolleyes1

I think it's the inconsistency, more than anything else, that has fired up the boards this week. If every CM only booked people who received the legitimate offer by email or snailmail, and not people who said they heard about it, then people would have nothing to boast about, or complain about. Either you got the mail or you didn't. I, for one, will stick with my AAA, AP, and Resident discounts, as they come available and just pretend these other offers don't even exist. I'm going to my happy place . . . . . . .

My booked trip is not during the code dates (though I did try to coax a deal out of my CM anyway!!)

I can totally understand NOT wanting to go to Disney during the applicable code dates while paying full rate. I could never bring myself to book a trip knowing that the person next to me paid such a ludicrously lower rate for no real distinguishing reason besides LUCK!!

It's not being a sore sport or anything either . . . it's just the frugal side of me. I'm the same way about theater tickets. I won't pay the same price as front row seating while sitting at the worst part of the same seating price level. I 'd rather not go!

Well, add me to the list of people shot down by the Mouse :( I phoned and asked the CM to check my old address as well as my new address for codes/pins and nothing :( I explained that we were really looking for a good rate to travel with our children this year and our adoption celebration (new 10 year old son)....still no love from the Mouse. So I read somewhere about someone writing and asking for a PIN from the main travel offices. So I emailed them. Got a reply today....NADA! Nothing, even with the great celebration we're trying to plan around......where is that magic they keep saying they are giving away this year?

From my understanding the promo started about a month ago...although I do not pretend to understand Disney strategy I used to be a travel agent and am aware that although reservations in this particular instance needed to be made by March 15th, Disney probably has alloted a certain quantity of rooms per resort at this discounted rate. Once those quota's have been filled then the room rates go back to their normal rates. It's all a numbers game folks and sometimes a little bit of luck on your part. Don't give up though you could always keep your eyes open for another promo in the year or perhaps check another disney property for which the quotas have not been filled yet. Either way good luck!

i am not going to think about it. my trip is booked and i will just wait and see why kind of public promotion they offer during that time.
