I Give Up!!

I think it's the inconsistency, more than anything else, that has fired up the boards this week. If every CM only booked people who received the legitimate offer by email or snailmail, and not people who said they heard about it, then people would have nothing to boast about, or complain about. Either you got the mail or you didn't. I, for one, will stick with my AAA, AP, and Resident discounts, as they come available and just pretend these other offers don't even exist. I'm going to my happy place . . . . . . .

It's not the inconsistency, it's knowing about it.

Hotels are famous for not charging anyone the same rate and this has been the case for years. Prior to the Internet and forums such as this, we were just all happily ignorant of it.

Sammie's right.

Sometimes I fly and I'm the guy in the aisle seat who paid 300$ less than you for the same flight.

Sometimes I fly and I'm the guy who paid 600$ MORE for the seat than you did.

That's life.

There's "happily ignorant", and then there's them that went got their 40% off.

Works both ways.

And I'm fine with that. :)

Well, If you want a discount you have two choices without the codes. Either get AAA or BUY an Annunal Pass!(which will give you approx the same as a code) That is what I do! and after spending around 100,000 bucks at disney...concierge in every deluxe resort, I FINALLY got a code! (I could have BOUGHT a DVC 10 times over!)
There is a third choice.. move to FL and get the Resident Rate...then you can also get a cheaper AP, but the money you save at Disney will be given to insurance compaines for homeowners insurance  ;)

I do kind of blame Disney for the code thing. I think if people call in with a code, they ought to let them use it, pin or no pin.

I'm still going this year because I told the kids we would, but it bites that someone else got the same vacation for a lot less. It's like Disney is saying "we want to encourage people to stay with us, but not you. You're not special enough to get a discount." :(

I don't mind paying full price if that's the price for all, though.

Next year, if we're chosen as one of the codeless, we'll do something like a cruise or Universal Studios for our family vacation.

It just makes it hard to know that we could have had the same exact quote with dining at 40% off. For room only it's 900.00 for the week we want to travel, it's 474.00 off site for a two bedroom with kitchenette. But that being said, we do enjoy the on site magic and would have stayed on site had we been able to take advantage of the 40% off or if we're still able to catch a break with free dining.

I wish they would open it up for the general public, it is the year of dreams afterall....show a little love Disney LOL
