Hello everyone:

This story I wanted to share because it warms the heart!

I heard this from a friend of a friend!! (don't know how much truth there is in it but I am very proud if it is true)

Seems that a frequent flyer was on a regular Miami bound airplane. All the passengers were on board and ready to go. Seat belts fastned when the pilot gets on the horn "we will not be taking off for about another 10-15 minutes due to some SPECIAL PASSENGERS we are waiting for."

This usually makes everyone a little upset no one likes to be late or have to wait on a plane. When finally after about 30-45 minutes a bunch of American soldiers coming home from Iraq get on the plane.

All the upset passengers get up and give the soldiers a huge round of applause. All the passengers were cheering.


I really want to believe this happened, again this was a friend of a friend who told this story. I truly hope if anyone runs accross one of our military folks coming home from Iraq or any other country we could all give them the same treatment.

My DH and I served many years in the Navy. Now whenever a stranger finds out about this they say "Thank you". You have no idea how wonderful it feels. All those years of working for slave wages and people thinking we were crazy for serving our country just melt away when we hear those words. So if you come across anyone who has served thank them. It really makes all those years worth it.

I was at a rally for President bush in the fall and every time someone in uniform wlaked by they were treated like a celebrity - the whole crowd cheered and people were shaking their hands - one guy was with his kids adn their eyes were wide with excitement and you could just tell they thought their dad was the coolest person on the face of the earth - it was nice that they got to see that their dad is a hero and people really appreciate what they are doing!

6 weeks ago I picked up my dh from the airport coming home from Iraq on leave and people at the terminal clapped as they came off the plane and came to shake his hand and Thank him. It meant a lot to him.

Wow, Thanks for posting this and for everyone's responses. Someone here gave the website anysoldier.com to send care packages to, and I noticed that many soldiers asked for letters also and I just finished writing kind of a gushy mushy letter telling them how much I appreciate them protecting the future of my child and all children and I was debating on whether to change it or not send it at all, and you all convinced me to include it unedited. Thanks a bunch!!!!
