Hello! I don't post on the dis to much but I recently came across the website profilesinhistory.com and saw that they are having an animation auction that includes a lot of Disney stuff and thought it would be of interest to well pretty much everyone on these boards. Majority of the stuff is very pricey but it is fun to look at. If by any chance I win the lottery in the next few days I would bid for that vintage Disneyland "Haunted Mansion" stretch painting in a heartbeat :lmao:.

Here is the pdf for all the things that are up for auction.

Profiles In History deals with a LOT of genre-related movie items. Joe Maddelena owns it and is a HUGE movie fan.

They actually had a show on Syfy for a couple years called Hollywood Treasure, where they show them checking out and auctioning a number of items. I think one of the early ones was the original screen-used carpet bag from Mary Poppins. And one episode dealt with finding that stretching portrait.

I met Joe a few years ago and got pictures of one of the original Golden Tickets from Willy Wonka, Superman #1 comic, and the sports almanac from Back To The Future...

He's a BIG Wizard of Oz fan, and is on a quest to locate a pair of ruby slippers which were stolen in 2005, and is only one of 5 pairs known to have survived.

I haven't heard about the show coming back for a third season, so it seems unlikely there will be more episodes, but my kids loved it.

If I win the lottery before the auction, I would like some of those Snow White Production Cells.

Specifically, numbers 499, 500 and 516.

Thirty years ago I had a chance to buy one (Snow white at the well) and couldn't afford it then. Now I really, really can't afford one.

The catalog has tons of cool stuff.

After waiting a while for the PDF to load...it looks like they've gotten a different portrait...the one on the show was the tightrope walker.

Wow that is really neat that you go to meet him. I think I am going to have to try and and find this Hollywood Treasures show online. It sounds very interesting.
