I know, this is NOT exciting news to the common WISHer. What's so exciting is that I discovered it in my grocery store here. It's box is totally covered in Japanese characters, with the exception of the word, "Kelloggs". The picture on the front looks somewhat like the all-bran pieces I recall from the US. The back has a picture of a kernel (of some type of grain) and it's anatomy (the outer hull that's made of fiber, etc). Then I think there's a comparison picture of 8 pieces of white bread equalling one 40 gm. serving of this cereal. I suspect that's the fiber comparison. Now I just have to figure out how much 40 gm. are in terms of some tangible measuring method that I can use.
And so goes another day in the life in Japan. I've lived here for six months already and I'm still discovering the most common things on a regular basis. It's the simple things that surprise and delight me here...even fiber!
