I don't have either the money or the time to do it, but it's fun to dream.
This was inspired by a show on the Travel channel last night on the Colorado river.
The trip starts by flying into Denver and renting a car. Go up to the Rocky Mountain National Park and spend about a week. Then hop in the car and drive down to Arches National Monument and the Canyonlands, spending another week in that area. Next on to Lake Powell where you rent a houseboat for several days and explore the nooks and crannies of Lake Powell. Finally on to the Grand Canyon before driving down to Phoenix and heading home.
It would take 3-4 weeks at least to do properly, and more money than I have, but that's one I think would be a lot of fun.
