I Finally Saw 2012

Oh I thought the little dog on there was adorable. :lovestruc I kept asking my husband if we could get a dog like that, while we were watching. I think that is all I remember of the movie!

The dog was cute - that was a highlight.

We watched it last night... :rotfl: We were seriously laughing as if it were a comedy.... TOO LONG for that bad of a movie...

ok, so we watched 2012 today...wow...BAD doesn't even begin to cover it. as soon as it was over, DH put it back in the envelope and took it to the post office to send it back to netflix. i'm not joking, LOL, immediately back it went. what a waste of time.

I also felt it was a waste of time. I felt like it was the beta version of a new attraction at Universal Studios.

I am clearly in the minority. I loved it -- so much so that I saw it three times while it was still in theaters. I am a huge fan of disaster movies as a genre, and am happy to suspend disbelief and enjoy the ride. I also think John Cusack is adorable.

Awful, awful, awful. Poor writing, acting, directing, AND special effects. I can understand being bad at one aspect but how can you be so bad at all of it? And someone still made the call to release it as-is?

this is my main reason for seeing it as well-LOVE john cusack. i'd watch him read a phone book, lol.

Shhhhhhh... don't give them any ideas.

agnes!

I saw it in the theaters when it first came out. I liked it. :confused3
I mean I didn't analyze it or anything.

It was simply what it was meant to be IMO. An over-the-top, unbelievable, goofy ride. I personally don't think that riding in little pirate ships or hugging giant dogs is very realistic but it's fun and to me 2012 was a bit like that.

I loved it - sorry. Big fan of disaster flicks of all types. I never expect realistic anything, that would go against the whole point of "disaster". Don't believe the Mayan stuff either but still found it interesting.

HATED Final Destination 3 though....

We couldn't see the movie in teh theater because of the baby, so we rented it from RedBox.

I liked it. It was a pretty good disaster movie.
I loved (not) how Amanda Peet's nice new guy Gordon was a good husband and stepfather to her two kids, flew the freaking plane and the copiloted another, saved Cusack's butt, and again, was a decent person, but not two minutes after John told Amanda that her husband had died, she was kissing John. And then at the very end, they were all hugged up together and she has such a happy face, so content, it's like Gordon never existed.

It was seriously bad and I like this kind of movie.
We knew that he was going to die the moment that the wife said "I love him enough."
