I've just picked up my new glasses and I feel really nauseous!! I'm normally a contact lens wearer but these glasses cost a fortune so I thought i'd try wearing them but I feel really queasy 'cos they don't give as good all round vision and I keep falling up and down kerns etc. Yuck!!! :earsgirl:

:wizard: Oh dear Carol, I hope that you start feeling better soon and that you get used to your new glasses :wizard:

I know exactly what you mean. I wear daily disposables and whenever I wear my glasses out instead I feel nauseous and dis-orientated. I just have to stick with lenses all the time, until I can get laser vision correction! (they say my eyes are not suitable yet :( )

YEEK! FRances999 laser vision too scary!!!, Am now struggling through my second day in them, drove like an oap on a sunday afterneeon trip to bournemouth on the way home yesterday, fell down the stairs last night and couldn't eat my dinner hot 'cos the glasses kept steaming up!! not very successful so far. willl try and get thru' today and then will probably return to the contacts :Pinkbounc

Oh Carol, I so sympathise! You poor thing.

I alternate between contacts and glasses and had some new glasses 2 weeks ago that were much smaller than my old ones and I was walking around just like you!! I was like a complete idiot, couldn't manage stairs without holding the handrail and the kerbs were hopeless!

You will get used to them, promise. As for laser surgery, I'd love to have the nerve to have this done but I'm far too much of a wuss!!

Carol, when I had a similar problem, it turned out that the focus of the glasses was in the wrong place. They were quite big frames and the focus was in the middle but due to the size of the frames I was looking through a point lower down which made me feel really nauseous. It might be worth getting the focus point checked by your optician.

Thanks Keh, will look into that, tho' have to admit have now reverted to lenses again - sooo much better :sunny:
