Op I feel your pain. In 2009 dh and I both lost our jobs within 6 weeks of each other. Dh started his own consulting business and I started to search for a new job. Well 44 resume submittals later I still did not have a job. It was at that point I took advantage of all the resources I had. Friends, families, business contacts, private employment cousellors, volunteering and then started my own business. Networking is the key to finding these resources. You could qualify for some re-training due to your back issues. Re-entering the workforce is tough. I did it at 42 after being home with my kids. In this economy you will definitely have to think outside the box and take advantage of any resources you have available to you. Good luck you can do it!!
