I-Drive Hotel to MK?

Any suggestions on the easiest and most cost-effective method to get to MK from an I-Drive hotel? I know the hotel is offering a complimentary shuttle, but I'm rather sceptical on it's reliability and also whether we will get a milk-run shuttle and it will take us forever to get to MK. We would rather not rent a car, especially when we would have to endure the gridlock traffic on I-drive.
