neve understand why people eat in Mcdonalds in Orlando with all the other choices, uless a quick drive through to plug the hunger pangs.

We went there on the last night as it was a short walk away, and we had a fair amount of quarters to use up. That and it was inbetween the hotel and Walmart, which we were in until 3am!

sounds like a good reason, i suppose it is good for somethink quick and tasty, plus it is half the price as in the uk

If the Hilton Grand Vacation Club on I-Drive is offering rates on the Hilton website (happens sometimes), I would recommend staying there. Great place - but avoid the timeshare deal or tour unless you are interested in a time share.

hilton garden inn on american way, stopped there a few times and really like it, found it more business people stop there so its very quiet during the day, also i used to walk to universal

Totally agree, we stayed there Oct 04, great place away from Idrive but close to Uni. Only problem is getting a good rate, there never seems to be great offers for it now, we paid £22/night with Airline Network, was a bargain:goodvibes

Another vote for the Homewood suites. have stayed there several times.
5 mins on the bus (lynx) from Universal or a 20minute stroll if you are feeling energetic.

Have done Quality Inn Pazza a few times. Being near to Covention centre it is a little quieter. Most journeys involved travelling south to Disney Parks / Sea World. When visiting Universal, I got onto I4 near Sea World and then travelled east for a few junctions, missing Sand Lake conjestion

Homewood suites is brill, free beer monday to thursday, great breakfast

I second the recommendation for Homewood Suites, although I would choose the one further south on I-Drive - I didn't particularly like the location of the one at the North end (not to mention someone was robbed at gunpoint at the hotel opposite the weekend before we arrived).

Some have said that I-Drive is not necessarily a great place to stay. Personally, I like I-Drive and we quite often go there to eat/look around even when we have stayed on site the last couple of trips.

Like Michelle, we have stayed at the Quality Inn and Holiday Inn on I-Drive - of the 2 we much preferred the QI. We have also stayed at the Renaissance Hotel opposite Sea World, which was really lovely but is definitely towards the more expensive range of hotels.

Although we've never stayed there, the Crowne Plaza gets very good reviews (at one point it was 3rd or 4th on Trip Advisor's top Orlando Hotel list). If we were to stay on I-Drive again, I would either go back to the Renaissance or stay at the Crowne Plaza.

Yet another vote for Homewood Suites. I have stayed at both of them on I-Drive, think my favourite was the one further South. Stayed onsite at Disney on our last trip but wouldn't hesitate to stay at Homewood Suites again :thumbsup2

Again, this is not at the north end but my recomendation is for the Parc Corniche http://www.parccorniche.com/.

Before I joined DVC (Plug, plug :thumbsup2 ) I stayed there exclusively. In fact, if I run out of points during the year , I still go back now and then. They're a stone's throw away from Seaworld, good sized suites (all the rooms have their own kitchenette) definately worth the money.

Keep seeing this one at a good rate, under £30/night for 1 bedroom in Sept, never considered it before, will look in future:thumbsup2 .

can echo that, parc corniche is great accomadation, on a golf course and also provided breakfast buffet, plus it has a bar if u dont want to go out at night

we usually stay at the Quality Inn International. It's very central in I-Drive, right next to the world's biggest McDonalds; if you like that sort of thing. There are plent of restaurants and bars, including a British bar and a few Irish ones. If you like walking, it takes half an hour to walk to Universal, or there is a free bus from the hotel. It is a 15 min drive to disney.

All the rooms have a microwave, fridge and coffee maker.

It is mostly British people that use the hotel, as you can tell when you go to the bar!

We have booked for September and paid £28 a room per night.

As we have always said, all you really do there is sleep and shower; you are out all day!
