I don't understand WDW reasoning on this one. They send e-mails to some people, not others, even if they have their e-mail address. Some people who got the discount have APs, but not others and some people with APs (like me) didn't get the e-mail. I suppose it's no different from snail mail postcards, but I figure there is some reasoning on WDW concerning who they are sending the offer to.

I wish that they would just release the codes for 30 September and beyond and get it over! Of course if I'd gotten an e-mail I would care quite so much. :)

I'd like to plan an October trip, but will do it only if I can get a good rate since this is a bonus trip. Come on Disney!!!

Why don't you try giving CRO a call and see why you didn't receive a postcard or email for the discounted rate? You might just get lucky and they might offer it to you.

I got the postcard for the $49 value rate but it didn't say anything about the moderate resort discount rate. I found that out when I called CRO and asked if there were any discounted rates for hotels other than the values.

IMO, it's worth a try, y ou know?

I will ask them about it when I call. I didn't think to when I called a couple days ago, but I don't think it would have mattered, anyway, because that CM said that she knew nothing about the AZZ code until I mentioned it. I don't know if she's new, had been on vacation, not the brightest bulb in the pack, or just playing with me, but she wasn't going to give me any information that I didn't spoon feed her. I'll try again today since I know it could be a different story with a different CM. :teeth:

I wish that all the personal info didn't have to be given out in order to ask if AP rates have been released or get to get room information. It gets a little tiring sometimes.

I am sure that they ran some sort of marketing model and the program determined who the emails should be sent to. The model could have been built to target any number of groups. Disney compiles information on us and then I am sure that they ran the marketing model against that information.

Most large companies do target marketing that way.

Sometimes it is targeted to people with a certain total household income. It can be just about anything.

I have had to call CRO a few times to ask questions and make modifications to my reservations for September. I have found that it really depends on who you talk to on how much information they'll give you. It's pretty much the luck of the draw. The first girl that I talked to, didn't know anything about the postcard rate and had to look it up on her computer. The second time I called (after reading on the boards about how sometimes they will offer discounts on Mods or deluxe resorts at the same time as the values and just not report them or say anything unless you ask) that I had to ask about the discounts on mods and she told me that there were some. The last time I called, to actually make the change from the value to the mod, the CM that I had was awesome! he answered all my questions and was just a wealth of information! Good luck!

Ditto on that. The CM I just spoke to seemed to know very little about the e-mail discounts, although perhaps they are trained to do that:p . I would guess that they would at least be busy quoting rates to the recipients of the e-mails.

My only speculation might be that they select target groups based on what they usually book? Perhaps they emailed a percentage of people who usually book value, some moderate, some deluxe and some concierge level?? They usually release a grouping of rooms from each category?

i recd. a post card thing about a few weeks ago. i have switched hotels 2 times, cause now dd15 is having 2 friends coming. so we are booked at ASMusic, . when i switched the other day the really nice CM said what is your e mail . i tried to explaine to her that we had swiwtched cable and we are still redoing things, etc. so i really dont have one right now. our old one was w/aol. so she goes :oh thats to bad. so i think it was the next DAY i read about the new e mail code. i was like "oh darn, i wish i got one". but we do have the post card. but for 4 nights x 2 rooms, the new EMAIL code would be like $160.00 plus tax LESS than what i am paying now. i know , i am thankful for the discount, but i think in the end it was only a little dif. than the AZZ in the paper. so it is kind i guess they must random picking on the comp.?? but we are still going , like i said i am gratefull for saving the little that we are......
