I don't like my new Payless Crocs!

I bought a pair at the beginning of summer, and finally wore them to work on Sunday. Besides how ugly they are, they made my back and legs hurt. And I will wear heels to work sometimes!! So, if I can't make it through a day at work with those shoes on, I'll never survive WDW with them.

Because they're so ugly (did I say that already?), I don't want to even buy "real" Crocs and try those. Does anyone have any suggestions for some comfortable sandals I could buy? I tried to wear flip flops once at AK. We were only going there for a couple of hours. It was AWFUL! So, I really need something with good support. I usually wear a good pair of walking shoes, but we're going in Sept and it's going to be hot.

TIA

Mary

I always wear running/walking shoes when I go, and my feet aren't hot until the end of the day. Even then, they aren't so hot that I wish I had on sandals.
Two months ago I bought a pair of navy Crocs from Nordstrom's and I like them. I plan on taking them and two pairs of tennis shoes. Maybe there actually is something different with the name brand and the knock offs. If you have the extra cash, I would buy the Crocs and see if you like them beter.

I bought a pair of Payless "crocs" and sold them in a garage sale. I also bought a pair of real Crocs and LOVE them. The only problem I have with them is that my feet get really hot, unless I'm walking around. My feet tend to be very sweaty (even in flip flops). I can't decide if I want to take them in September.

My real croc flip flops are the most comfortable shoes I own. Sorry, but you can't compare Payless shoes with the real thing!! I wil be wearing a mix of New Balance sneakers and my crocs in August.

You should not compare fake crocs with real ones. The real ones are so comfortable. You may like the crocs athens. They look like sandals instead of the tradtional clogs.

Absolutely no comparison between the Payless Airwalks and Crocs. That's like saying that New Balance tennis shoes are crap just because you bought a pair of $10 tennis shoes at Wal-Mart that didn't prevent foot problems. Sure, they look similar, but that's where the similarity ends. Crocs are made of a totally different, patented material. If you want the comfort of Crocs, get Crocs. Believe me, I'm all about bargain hunting. But there are just certain things in life (toilet paper comes to mind) where the bottom line is that you get what you pay for, and good walking shoes fall into that category.

And can we all agree to only call Crocs "Crocs"? You wouldn't buy a pair of Reeboks and call them Nikes, so why buy Airwalks or generic sandals and call them Crocs? It just confuses people who may buy the cheaper shoes only to cause them agony at WDW.

Stepping down off the soap box now.......

What does this have to do with theme parks and attractions? I swear, there needs to be a Crocs forum.

I love my Teva's. They are called 'pretty rugged'. They do cost more than the Crocs, but IMO, are much better looking. I used them last August in WDW and wore them much more than my sneakers.

....it's NB for ME, too.....! :thumbsup2 (by far, the BEST pair of sneakers I've ever purchased for walking....)

I just want to comment for those DISers that think that this is not the right forum to discuss the comfort of shoes....If it werent for this website I would have never have learnt about Crocs and Tevas as excellent suggestions for comfortable walking shoes. :thumbsup2 (In Canada these only recently hit the markets!)

We are all here to help each other make the Disney experience a rewarding one. If I didnt have comfortable walking shoes my days at WDW would be awful.

Isnt that what the DIS Board is all about? :confused3

And for what it is worth....I love my Crocs and will be bringing them on my next Disney trip as will my children. We will also bring comfortable sneakers. At WDW it is all about comfort!

All of us will be wearing the Sea to Sport shoes from Lands End. These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned! DH has the extreme sport version and he loves them. I can't post a link to them because I don't have enough posts yet. But you can find them on the Lands End website.

On a whim, I bought Crocs for my husband and myself for our Disney trip. We both took our comfortable tennis shoes as well, but ended up being so comfortable in the Crocs that we didn't wear the tennis shoes. Now when my DH gets home from work, he puts on his Crocs to do stuff around the house. I think he would wear them to work if they looked good with dress pants.

I wear a pair of the black "Professional" model Crocs with dress pants to work every day. They don't have the holes in the top.

i bought a pair of the crocs flip flops to take to my trip 2 weeks ago. i also took my new balance sneakers as i love nb sneakers and that is traditionally what i always wear. i started off the trip wearing my crocs and i loved them and had no problems at all. i wore my sneakers for jsut one evening for a few hours and was miserable. i wasn't as comfortable and my feet were hott it was awful. that made me realize how good my crocs were. don't get me wrong i still wear my sneaks at home and stuff but for disney i wouldn't wear anything but my crocs anymore. oh and the flip flops aren't ugly either. i can bring myself to buy the regular clog lookign thinsg ;)

I love my Payless Airwalks, but I only wear them bopping around town and MAYBE to the mall. I could never go sockless at WDW, I love wearing tennis shoes and good socks there. I think the socks absorb the moisture. I have tried on crocs and did not see a big difference between them and the payless ones. The ones at Target are HARD, but the payless ones are nice and cushy. I love my Nike walking shoes for marathon walking! I would never wear any sandles at WDW, not comfy at all IMO!

We did major walking around Baltimore/Washington DC earlier this month and I alternated between my crocs and my Eurostep sandals. Only one evening did I have trouble with my knees (I have torn out both knees at least once) and we did almost as much walking that you would do in Disney. I  Eurostep shoes!!

PS- In my house "fake" Crocs are frocs!!

Have you tried Merrells? They make great sandals that are very durable, comfortable and sturdy. Also, Keens and some Teva's are great.

The covered big toe are the Keens. The other two are Merrells - they are great shoes and you can go all day in them. As long as you do not have major foot issues.

Here are some:

My husband and I both swear by our Teva's. I wear mine with short little socks (shut up!) to eliminate any rubbing.
