I Don't Know, I Don't Speak Wind!!

I am glad to see you are getting some sub work. That's not an easy job. What grades/subjects are you enjoying?

I have only been teaching 1st grade so far. I was lucky to actually have the same class several days in a row.

Too funny. I heard the same thing on the news and thought of Memom. :goodvibes

Funny how quickly our DIS friends come to mind when we hear about their places.

Oh my gosh! That was fun! I wish we would have come to that with you...
I think we would have enjoyed that so much. Well next time....
Ft Wilderness certainly knows how to celebrate the holidays. We have done the sleigh ride at Christmas the the lights are fabulous!

Why am I not surprised that Brook found a hula hoop?;)

Maybe you can check it out the next time you are there on the 4th. :thumbsup2

You know that girl and her hoops!

Such a cute parade! I love the Minnie golf cart.

Me, too. If I ever have a golf cart, I think I will have a Minnie one. ::yes::

I'm loving the cart parade...what time was it?

Mid-morning. Maybe 9 or 10?

Prayers for all those suffering right now. I've been obsessing over all the news from Mali, where I was a Peace Corps Volunteer. Most of my friends and their relatives there seem to be safe for now, altho I haven't heard from Timbuktu .... More than ever, I need & enjoy my Disney breaks. Thanks for the sunshine!
Such a production that cart parade is! What a hoot that so many people participated -- and they really did up the theming, too. I love holiday festivities at FW.

I wish we had a world of peace. I hope your friends and all of theirs are all well.

There were so many carts. I was surprised at how long it went on.

I loved the picture of Bella in her eyepatch! My brother had to be patched when he was younger, maybe starting around Bella's age? We have pictures of him wearing it. He has needed glasses since he was two (he's 25 now) and that one eye is still kind of off-center, but really only because he was crazy "busy" when he was little and just could never be bothered to stay still, let alone keep his glasses or the patch on. Doesn't impair him or anything, just something you notice when you're looking at him straight on. I'm glad to say he has calmed down. ;) My dad, on the other hand...

That cart parade is SO cute! I'm such a dog lover, I loved that people included them. The bird took me by surprise, though; my birds are so insane that I cannot picture them participating so nicely!

We hope Bella's eye troubles resolve themselves quickly and without surgery, but if surgery is necessary, we know she will come through it beautifully.

The dogs were cute. The bird was unexpected.

What a cute parade!! I showed DH the one with the St. Bernard. He grew up with 2 of them!!

That's great that they get into the holiday spirit. The CM's really seemed to be enjoying it also!:)

There were many castmembers out there, and it was clear that they knew many of these people well.

So was this parade only run on July 4? (I've lost track of the dates on your trip!) What a fun thing to do!! There's a special group out there at the campground - they go all out to celebrate holidays! I had wanted to see it at Christmas time when we went in December 09, but it just didn't fit in. Next time for sure!!

As far as I saw, yes, only on the 4th.

It's worth the trip to see the campsites. Some of them are pretty crazy, but in a good, fun way!

How cute! I had no idea they did something like that.

So much new to learn and to do in Walt Disney World! :goodvibes

I have only been teaching 1st grade so far. I was lucky to actually have the same class several days in a row.

First grade is nice. They don't have snarky little attitudes yet. ;) It does help when you establish yourself. I hope you will find just the right fit for you in the school of your choice.

I wore an eye patch when I was young (had surgery first at 2) and still have a lazy eye. But things are so much more advanced so many (ahem) years later! Her eyes don't look nearly as bad as mine were. Plus she gets cool patches! Mine were beige like a bandaid. bleh.

I probably won't ever be there in summer, so I'll live vicariously through your 4th of July pics! I'll try to get there for the Christmas lights!

We need to set up a webcam and do live stream. :thumbsup2

Jill felt really good after talking to this doctor. Hopefully, she can get everything corrected before she goes to kindergarten. Her eyes don't do this all the time, but when they do, they really can roll around. Jill tells her they are 'wonky eyes' when they get like that.

That golf cart parade looks like so much fun. I wonder if they do it other times durning the year?

Hey Memom- you live in one of the two states where the flu is not widespread!! Lucky you :)

You mean Lucky me!

I just came back from one of those States that did (Florida) and guess who has been very very sick all week long with a severe case of the FLU...me. :crazy2:
Trust me when I say...you do not want to catch this it's awful. I'm still coughing.

I am so thankful we didn't get sick at Disney.

We had an awesome time and the weather was gorgeous and warm. Lots of swimming.

We saw, enjoyed and sampled all the new stuff. :thumbsup2

Be Our Guest was a dream of mine that finally came true. The food was good and I did come home with a rather large stuffed friend Mr Beast who made a wonderful pillow on the plane. ;)
Didn't care for LeFou's Brew but Lexi gave it a thumbs up. I do luv the souvenir cups though. Well worth it just to get those.

Loved the Little Mermaid ride and it was great to see Ariel again in her new under the sea home.

The new character meet in the circus tent was a favorite of the trip. Very cool area and it's fun to see the different themes. (don't want to spoil it for others)

Test Track was a blast! Love love the changes and Lexi had a lot of fun making the videos/photo emails and doing the interactive stuff.
We missed out on designing our cars in more depth because we always did Fastpass.

I guess it's good to be home....I'd rather be there though!:rotfl2:

I've got some pics to share of the 2013 merchandise for you.
Yes some of it did make it home with us. :)

Glad to hear all is well around here.
I'm so excited for Jill and the girls to get a DL trip!!! So happy for them! :goodvibes
I think Jill can make the airplane/airport travel with all three girls work....she is a Mommy after all and dealing with 'challenging situations' is what we are good at. :thumbsup2

It was nice catching up on all the pics that I missed.
You and Brooklynn sure did make the best of your days together back in July.
I didn't know about half of the things you did and it looks like she was having the best time.
Resort hopping is a great way to take in all the different ways Disney does it best. Their attention to detail is amazing! Each resort is full of little treasures.

Hmmm...I may need to try those waffles at AOA in May....they are too cute!

Have a special Sunday!

That golf cart parade looks like so much fun. I wonder if they do it other times durning the year?

They do it on Halloween, also. I am not sure about any other times. You might check youtube for videos, if there are any. Your girls would enjoy seeing it, I bet.

So sorry to hear this. My ESP was kicking in again, because I was thinking of you yesterday! You won't believe this, but right before Christmas, I was thinking that I hadn't heard from Jackie in a while, so I sent her a text message. She said she was addressing a Christmas card to us right at that minute! :faint:

We had an awesome time and the weather was gorgeous and warm. Lots of swimming.

Great!!!

I didn't care for LeFou's Brew, either, but I am not an apple juice person. I tool my obligatory sip, because I will have to have a bite and/or drink of every Disney thing, of course! :thumbsup2

Loved the Little Mermaid ride and it was great to see Ariel again in her new under the sea home.

I very much agree - it was good to see Ariel back under the sea. :fish:

The new character meet in the circus tent was a favorite of the trip. Very cool area and it's fun to see the different themes. (don't want to spoil it for others)

This is one thing we did not get to in October. Probably because when we get back there, the girls ride Barnstormer 9,000 times! I want to go in in March and get pictures, as the ones I have seen have been very cute. If I can't talk Kay into getting in them (she can show her grandkids, right?) then I will just ask for a quick 'alone' pose from each of them and move on.

Test Track was a blast! Love love the changes and Lexi had a lot of fun making the videos/photo emails and doing the interactive stuff.
We missed out on designing our cars in more depth because we always did Fastpass.

Many people are giving negative reviews to TT. It seems they like the old queue better. I will give it my review in March. I bet the younger set does like all the hig tech stuff, and if I can send a picture of myself in a race car - if that is what it is - back home to the girls, they will get a kick out of that! ;)

I guess it's good to be home....I'd rather be there though!:rotfl2:

I can handle being home, as long as I have a trip or two or three planned. :goodvibes

I've got some pics to share of the 2013 merchandise for you.
Yes some of it did make it home with us. :)

Bring it on!!! :dance3:

Glad to hear all is well around here.

I think Jill can make the airplane/airport travel with all three girls work....she is a Mommy after all and dealing with 'challenging situations' is what we are good at. :thumbsup2

As of yesterday, all that changed. I will give you details in a few minutes.

I would rather walk around the resorts and see pretty landscaping and architecture, hear the music, taste the food, and 'be' in different parts of the world through the themes of each than ride many of the rides people flock to. Resort-hopping is a big part of my trips. It actually becomes a problem, sometimes, trying to fit them in to the time we have and not miss what the others are doing. I have even thought that I need to taxi over to different resorts for my morning walks, and then get back to Pop in time to get out the door with everyone else! That would be a solution. ::yes::

Hmmm...I may need to try those waffles at AOA in May....they are too cute!

That breakfast was plenty filling.

Have a special Sunday!

Will do. Good to have you back in town!

As of yesterday, our year ahead in Disney craziness is planned! :cool1: Jill had been contemplating the Disneyland trip, since John is doing some work out there several times this spring. As the planning continued and the numbers were still high, she started punching in numbers to go south instead of west. The in-law trip that had been nipping at her heels for a couple of years now would die down for a while, but then the MIL would bring it back up, so it was not going to go away. When I say 'bring it up', I don't mean just mention it. I mean pick your least favorite soap opera actor and put them in the hospital bed, cue the lights and music, and give it your best 'Carol Burnette spoof' shot, gazing off into the distance when finished. And I am not kidding, okay?

The thought of no Disney parks until December 25th was weighing heavily on my oldest child/overworked mother of three lively little princesses. ;) She decided to just go ahead and bite the bullet. After discussing it with John and showing him the numbers, as well as telling him he owed her a lifetime of happiness and possibly a mansion, a new car and unlimited amounts of anything else she ever decided to want in the future, she told him she would sacrifice and go with his parents. Really she only meant she would sacrifice going with his mom. John's dad is fine - very laidback and not full of drama. After a few texts to John's mom and then giving in to a phone call - and this is John's reluctance to call his own mother - an April trip was planned. Jill will be marking her last moderate resort off of her list - her beloved Coronado Springs! :rotfl: Those of you who have been around a while will understand the little guy rolling around on the floor. :)

I can say all this because even John makes fun of his mother. As do his siblings. She means well, we all know, but boy, oh boy, she can conjure up some drama in doing something as little as making a peanut butter sandwich! You would just have to experience it to understand. Maybe some of you will be lucky enough to cross paths with her in April! :goodvibes

Airline reservations were made - John's parents flying from Nashville and Jill's bunch flying from Huntsville - as being trapped in an airplane with John's mom was not going to be any letter of option from A all the way down to Z. They will meet at MCO, and the fun will begin.

Please join with me in Jill Watch 2013, as during the next half hour of time, I may or may not have seen Jill with a towel wrapped around her neck in a hanging position and kneeled down with her head in the oven. :upsidedow

What we do, what we do, for the love of Disney!!! :wizard:

They will have fun, of course, but I am thinking of booking an April trip just to go along and video it all from a distance. ;)

Oh yeah, and I booked our December trip, as well, so now I can relax and move on with 2013. I will be doing the March trip with our friend, Kay. Jill will be doing her April trip. We're going to Vero, doing Sea World, and spending one night in WDW in June, and then hopefully having an all family trip in December. We are also planning Disney birthday parties, a Disney day with our cousins, and a wedding.

There will also be a DISmeet in Nashville on July 6th.

Since the 5th is the birthday of our esteemed Miss Anita Wigd, you guys come on down and we'll all chip in our pennies to buy her a Rainforest birthday meal.
party:

Good Morning- thanks for the full story behind the April trip.. My mil is the same way- I have survived 25 years, but just barely, maybe that's why we live 12 hours away! The last thing my husband would do is go on vacation with her- so John and Jill get bonus points for that!

Somehow, we all get our wdw fixes in. You will enjoy the many new and exciting experiences over the next year! I will be thinking of you all at the July 6 meet- once again so close and yet so far. I had thought of combining the Disney trip with the Michigan trip, making a big loop and actually stopping in Nashville, but Jer won't take 3 weeks off...so off to Michigan in August.

Have a great Sunday

It's good to be back in town with my DIS friends too! :grouphug:

WOW! I hope Jill's trip with John's parents goes better than you expect.
Who knows...she may be less dramatic there surrounded by all the magic.
That is still very exciting news for the girls to get to go and enjoy WDW this spring.
Fun times for sure!
Coronado Springs is a very cool and pretty resort. I know you all luv the buffet there.
The themed pool should be a great treat for the girls.
Anyway you look at it...
a Disney trip is still a Disney trip an it will be Fantastic!!!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I forgot to tell you what I found in my mailbox when we got home.
A FD pin code that would have been good while we were there. :upsidedow
What a bummer that was.
It is good til the first week of March but I can't make that work cause Easter is early this year.
There was another discount code off rooms that's good til the summer so it wasn't a total loss.
I was pricing out the different options the other day and we may try CB or do a split stay with POP and AOA Mermaid (Lexi's choice).

I would have liked LeFou's brew if it didn't have the marshmallow added in. Frozen apple juice alone I would have loved.

The new Test track is bright neon lights and very modern. We enjoyed the new look.
I don't miss the old version with the dummies and the weird noises in the queue.
The fast spin outside on the track is what makes it so much fun and that didn't change a bit. :thumbsup2
You won't be posing inside a car but along side one. :ssst: that's all I'm going to say as to not spoil it.

Have a wonderful day.
I'm off to work to write the purchasing order and see how much work there is to catch up on.

I'll try and get those pics up later today. Get your popcorn:: ready.

You know, sometimes I feel really sad over the fact my hubby chose to walk away from his family and we have no relationship with them. Other times when I hear stories of people who have difficult in-law relationships, I'm grateful for his decision to eliminate that source os stress (and believe me, it would be stress!) Hope Jill is able to find some joy in her in-law trip!

What are your December dates? I have the green light from hubby to start planning ours but too many variables are still in the air for me to start booking anything yet.

I don't comment much these days but I am lurking and enjoying! What a fun parade at Ft Wilderness!

I love the cart parade! How much fun is that. Hopefully it wasn't unbearably hot while you were out there walking. I really hope to get over there during the holidays next year and see it decorated, I've wanted that for years and think we are going to need to escape the parks so hope that can factor in.

Oh my goodness, I saw the FB update on the April trip for Jill but didn't connect the dots. I wish her strength and patience and perhaps lots of pool time to cool off. They are at at a very good pool for that!

Oh Jill... I feel your pain. We did one trip with my inlaws, when it was just Hannah. I did it once...and that is all I can say about that other than I almost never walked in Liberty Tree Tavern today after our disaster meal with them almost 8 years ago. Good luck and don't forget you are in the most Magical Place on Earth!

Can't say John is thrilled about it, but it wasn't going to go away, apparently, so this is as good a time as any. :)

Sorry you can't come to Nashville. :(

Too bad about that pin code, huh??? :headache:

When are they going in April? We will be there from the 20th to the 27th.

They'll be there in the teens, so you will just miss them. Bummer.

You know, sometimes I feel really sad over the fact my hubby chose to walk away from his family and we have no relationship with them. I very much understand having to put your blood family behind you when it is best for your children.

Hoping in the Magic vs. MIL battle that will occur, Magic will win. :wizard:

It's good to know you are still here. We miss the chit chat and banter, but everyone is busy, busy, busy, so we understand.

It was not unbearably hot. I think it was hotter up north at that time.

Jill has the advantage of being a nursing mother, so she will be using that to excuse herself when she needs the break. Poor Sophie - she is going to be like  We're eating again!

Pool time will also help,
as will nap time,
bathroom time,
I have to check something at the front desk! time,
I think I know those people over there - let me go see! time,
and well,
then there some rides and attractions.
She can do this!

She has started out quite graciously. She chose to do a meal at Prime Time Cafe because she thought John's parents would enjoy the decor. I thought that was very thoughtful. She will bite her tongue often, as she has done for years. There was a disaster Thanksgiving one year when words were spoken, but she really does a good job holding her thoughts until she gets away. I have faith that Disney World will be more powerful than the MIL.

I saw on FB that the DL trip was out and a WDW trip was in! Yeah for a Disney trip.. where ever it is. :cool1::cool1: I love DL, but I understand the cost factor. It is sooo much more expensive then WDW. We just don't get the deals that are offered at WDW. Plus, if I'm going for a vacation I prefer to be totally immersed in the area. At WDW, you are totally surrounded by all things Disney.. roads, restaurants, monorails, hotels etc., not so much at DL (it is a MUCH smaller Disney bubble you are in). Jill can always let her MIL take the girls, and she can just relax and chill at the hotel (with Sophie of course).

I loved my MIL, but we did a trip with them and the rest of my DH's family.. and I swore I'd NEVER do it again. If you are going to travel with anyone, they must have the same vacation plan as you.. no matter who it is.. and theirs did not mesh with ours at all!

Love the pictures of the golf cart parade. We have never made it over there. I'd love to see it. Maybe someday when we are retired, we can camp there.

Coronado Springs is very pretty, and Jill is excited about staying in the only moderate she has not stayed in yet.

That's exactly why we picked it for our next trip! We'll be there in less that 2 weeks :thumbsup2

It's always different when you go with different people! It was fun when we went in December with a three year old and his daddy, but much, much different than our mom/daughter trips!

Sounds like a busy year for you guys :)

I saw on Facebook about the April trip, but didn't connect the dots and realize it was going to be the infamous MIL trip. I'm glad she gets to go, though! I realized earlier that I'm actually leaving next weekend. This is a long weekend, so next week is my last full week of work. :goodvibes

Just wanted to say hi and thank you for the trip report

Hello :wave2: - and thank you for reading. :goodvibes Hope you find this a comfortable place to hang out. You can meet many nice DIS friends around here.

From my own view, I am glad Jill is not having to travel with the girls by herself all the way to CA, and I am glad she is getting a Disney trip to whichever park worked. That makes things easier for me to be happier about the March trip, too. :thumbsup2

I know John's dad will just follow along wherever they take him and not say/question anything. He'll be happy to see the girls do what they do at Disney World, and although it might not be his complete 'cup of tea', he will enjoy it. If John's mom can follow along and do the same, it will work.

That's exactly why we picked it for our next trip! We'll be there in less that 2 weeks :thumbsup2

Sounds like a busy year for you guys :)

So what's left on your resort list now?

Girl tips go smoothly. We do what we do, and there is no sighing or pouting from grown-ups. ;) When you throw others in the mix, it's good to have lots of days to spread things out and be sure to have lots of rest time for them so that everything can stay happy.

I saw on Facebook about the April trip, but didn't connect the dots and realize it was going to be the infamous MIL trip. I'm glad she gets to go, though! I realized earlier that I'm actually leaving next weekend. This is a long weekend, so next week is my last full week of work. :goodvibes

It snowballed yesterday. Just appeared in a matter of minutes. I am happy Jill gets to go to WDW, and she should no longer have to deal with the badgering, hinting, and drama surrounding talk of it.

We were talking about you, actually. We said how we like it when our friends are there, and how nice it was to get pictures from people while on trips. You've got the next shift, it seems, in keeping us hanging in. :thumbsup2 I need to line up about five more people to get me through until March 20th. Once March hits, there should be a lot of activity among DISers.
