I Don't Know, I Don't Speak Wind!!

AWW! What a cute little area. I love that Brooklynn got to have one last ride on the ponies. They're so beautiful and she's just precious.

Yay, a MeMom sighting! :goodvibes

Great picture of you and the Mickey bar...good thing you can't refuse a request from Brooklyn :)

Jerry had his car serviced and caught up on the ken burns civil war on Netflix. Justin played some football Internet game he likes, studied a little and practiced for his French horn midterm. I am catching up on the PTO books, which have been neglected for too long :). Time to get dinner in the oven .

LOVED the picture of YOU!!!!

I took the dog to the vet for his check up. (He's fine, just a little overweight - not unlike his parents) It was -9 this morning!!!

Then we all went to the Mall of America, with about everyone else in town who had the day off! Of course I made the obligatory stop in the Disney store!! Just to look! Sarah bought a slinky-dog pencil case, but the markers didn't work, so she took it right back! They had some cute new adult Minnie things, some stuffies that I hadn't seen before - the other ducks from the 3 caballeros, the fairies from Sleeping Beauty and Oswald too. Those were on clearance. Pushing the Peter Pan stuff b/c the special "something" edition DVD is coming out. Also saw some Wreck it Ralph stuff.

Had some food court lunch and went to the new store "Cupcake". The owner won Cupcake Wars on Food TV. Sarah LOVES that show and wants to be on it. Yesterday she made French Toast Cupcakes (more like a muffin) with Maple butter cream frosting. Pretty yummy!
Anyway, we got a couple cupcakes - one triple vanilla and one S'mores. Pretty good! They also had French macaroons, but no good flavors left I wanted to try. I LOVED those things in France so I'll have to go back next time I'm at the mall.

Paige has dance in an hour, so I'll have to venture out in the cold again. I think it got as "warm" as -3. Might break zero tomorrow! ugh.

I remember the winter of '94, Brendan was a baby and it didn't get above 0 for about 4 days...they were selling the "I survived x amount of hours below zero" t- shirts at the mall! ( that was when we lived in Rochestet MN)

I'm so excited to see a real MeMom pic and not a hidden MeMom!

Enjoyed the walk around the barns and doing a little shopping. That playground sure looks fun!

Glad you had the day off. We were in school for a snow make up day. And freezing....I'm ready for spring....nah, summer! :)

We ran errands today. Plus a little retail for me. I'm going with my hubby to St Petersburg is I wanted some new clothes.

Your visit to the horse barn reminds me of something I learned this summer. We have a place in Des Moines called the Living History Farms. It's exactly what it sounds like, recreations of farms from various points in history where the people who work there actually do the work of people during those times. At the 1800 farm, a couple young men were just putting the horses away for the day then came out of the barn where we were taking a break in the shade and looking at various farm implements.

One of the young men came over and struck up a conversation. Not sure how we got here but he was telling us that the horses they had just put away were originally supposed to go to Disney but came there instead. He said the guy who selects and trains the Disney horses lives in Iowa. I thought that was pretty darn cool!!

That is awesome!!

I won't torture you by reposting but it was so nice to see your face today :goodvibes Thanks Brook for taking that picture for us to see!! How nice of the CM to give her a whole new mickey bar! Wish I had one on this chilly day off. Instead I sat by my space heater and Dised away the day LOL!

Yay for the MeMom photo and yay to me for getting all caught up on the TR on my day off! We stayed at the cabins at Fort Wilderness last time we were there Feb 2011 and we loved them and the whole atmosphere! I love the Grumpy and Mickey shirt from the Fort that you photographed, perfect for my hubby, wish I could get them online!!

All caught up.

The golf cart parade looks like so much fun.

You are doing a great job resort hopping and keeping busy without park passes.

I know there is a path from CBR to POP since the ME bus sometimes takes it.:ssst: but I did not know it was CM only. Hmmmmmm

YAY for Jill getting a trip in April but I will say a little prayer for her in dealing with MIL. ;)

Believe me, it was no problem not having park passes!

I may have to try to 'accidentally' walk that CBR/Pop path someday. I could just plead ignorance, if anyone said anything to me, couldn't I?

I am so happy Jill gets a spring trip. I had thought so many times about giving my March trip up, knowing I couldn't fully enjoy it if she didn't also have something in the works. Yet, I really, really love my spring trips, so it was making me .

How interesting, we go over to FW to go to Trails End Buffet every trip, but I have never been to the barns...might have to mosey on over next trip.

Hope you are enjoying your day off. Justin has a busy week ahead...midterms, band rehearsal and concert and musical rehearsals...such is the life of a high-schooler :)

We have been to Trail's End. We liked it, and have thought about going again. I think the menu has changed since we were there, though.

I hope she enjoyed her last ride

She did. :thumbsup2

Recovered from the flu and did house chores btw loved that Brooklyn got a pix of you

Jill and I have both been sick, but not with the flu. Apparently it was some bug, and I am hoping that it only lasts a short time. I am able to look at food without getting nauseated today, and I had a lemonade popsicle and then when that stayed down, I dared to try some chicken noodle soup. Hoping for the best. Jill went into work, but was able to leave after a short time, thankfully. She got to sleep this afternoon, as did I. I think sleep is the best way to get through the yucky times.

She enjoyed her ride. From now on, she will have to be happy watching her sisters ride.

Yeah, I would do almost anything for that little girl - even have a picture taken.

Yesterday, I would not have been able to read your posts about cupcakes. I was so sick. People were posting pictures of their football party foods on FB, and I had to shut it down. I think it is a positive sign that I can read about these sweets and think they sound pretty good.

I want to get to Mall of America one of these years! Jill talked about this a couple of years ago, but we always end up going south when we have travel money.

I couldn't live any further north! :cold:

Come on, spring! I am hoping for a snow day or two in February, but I want it to stay right at that 30-32 mark, and then I want it to warm up right away. :goodvibes

We ran errands today. Plus a little retail for me. I'm going with my hubby to St Petersburg is I wanted some new clothes.

It is always nice to get new clothes. :cool1:
Maybe you can share a picture or two from St. Pete.

Any Disney connection is cool, of course. ::yes::

I've been covered up in bed much of the day - in and out of sleep. I hope that one more good night's sleep will get rid of this yuck.

The only thing that keeps us from trying a cabin is the one bathroom.

You can call Disney Merchandising and describe the items you want. They will get them to you.

Have you heard any more about Spectro coming back this spring? I was hoping it would be back in March, but now I will be happy enough it it comes back in April, so Jill can see it. I juat want it back - period.

I haven't. I want it back, too; I miss it so much!

I loved the pictures from Fort Wilderness, it looks like such a fun place.

Didn't really do anything for the holiday. Nice, relaxing day. Now snow day dancing. I work in the next city over and my program is located in the high school, so we follow the city's public school closings. This is not really a big deal, as far as snow goes (we're somewhere on the line of 1-3" and 4-8"...always on the line), and they rarely cancel for anything under 5". There could be a bigger storm later in the week. I want a snow day! Just nothing next Friday or Saturday. :)

Ft. Wilderness has some cute merchandise, the camp chairs and t-shirts especially!
Brook did take a great picture of you, I'm glad you posted it!:thumbsup2

We had today off, Marc worked this morning though by doing a walk through at the high school to monitor the energy usage.
While he did that I went to my school and fed the chameleon and got a run/walk in. (yep, we are going to try for the 5k on castaway cay)
Then ran around gathering materials for a pinterest project for my classroom. We also met Megan and Harper for lunch. Also picked up things for our fish extender gifts for the cruise.
I need to get back to school to rest up.

Now I'm trying to get some laundry done so we have clean clothes to wear for the week!

Love the cart parade pictures...very cute (I like the Minnie one the best).

I'm not a horse lover, but I do enjoy looking at them...they are beautiful creatures.

Now, since I've not been around your TR's before, what's with the ":rotfl:" on the Coronado Springs?

Hope you're having a nice weekend!

KSchafer & I had a fun day yesterday. We drove over to Des Moines, did some shopping, eating & talking about Disney of course! :) We talked about NYE this coming year, and who would be able to be there as well. I'm in as long as I'm covered at work - I did some looking last night at rooms. We talked about getting a OHana dinner together for Dec 31st, so we talked about booking dining time at 180 days out for that. Who all is planning on being there on NYE?

I also got a new Cruise Line book & today I'm looking into excursions. I also need to decide on another dining choice for mom & I. Cal Grill is on refurb that time so that's out :(

Have a great day!

ME!!!!! I'm planning on being there!!!

She surely did. She was very pleased with her face and her paws. ;)

She looked good!!

Talked Disney? Imagine that!

We are going to be in Disney World on NYE. We are normally at Poly beach, and I know our guys would love the 'Ohana idea. Someone had suggested doing that one on the night before and seeing Epcot's on NYE for a change. I don't guess we're committed to either one, at this point. If we want to do the webcam fun, we would need to stick with the Poly plan, but I am always in for seeing something new, too.

It;s so exciting that your wait is almost over! You and Katie will have a blast. I hope the weather is nice and warm. This sure would be a good week to be there, according to what I have seen.

I enkoy when we get a bus occasionally that has no one else or very few people, because the drivers do tend to talk a little.

Epcot works good, too! I'm up for anything. Is Epcot not as wild on NYE as the MK?

I like the colors and the music at CBR, and they have a great food court.

I don't know about the wildness, but I just heard a lot of good things about the Epcot fireworks - this year more than ever. I would say we could do 'Ohana on the 30th, but I think the beach might even be more crowded then, because I think that's when a lot of the locals go. I don't know that we will do them two nights, though. I will leave it up to Jill. Whatever she want to do, I am fine with that. I will make sure she sees this and gives her input.

Thank you, ma'am.

******************************************

After thinking and thinking and thinking, I think I will toss my vote in for NYE at Poly beach. I like having the space to spread out, especially for the girls, and we'll have our webcam buddies with us. The guys are up for the idea of 'Ohana and entertainment on the beach, so we'll stick with the Plan A. Just tell me what we need to do when it comes to ADR time.

I'm up for whatever!!! Let me know what the plan is!! I was lucky enough to stay at BW this year, so I was just across from Anita...so we decided that we didn't want to deal with the traffic after the fireworks. We were going to meet up and watch the ones at Epcot.....that didn't quite work out like we planned!!!... so I ended up watching them in Epcot by the bridge near the UK!!! They were great!!

And I'm still behind (no shock there!!! :rotfl2:) I'm trying to catch up!!!

Hope you get that snow day. I want several of those in February. My ideal plan would be to have it snow every Tuesday night. February would be tolerable if I could work two days, be off a day, work two more days, then have the weekend. Perfect. :thumbsup2

I had my eye on that camp chair, too! ::yes:: Wouldn't it be perfect for watching grandchildren play soccer and having Disney magic all at once? pixiedust:

You had a much more productive day than I did. I moved from one side of the bed to the other. I am planning to go in today, but I am pretty sure I still have a touch of a fever, as I just turned the heater down. I am way too cold-natured to do that under normal circumstances. ;)

Now, since I've not been around your TR's before, what's with the ":rotfl:" on the Coronado Springs?

They are beautiful horses. Being so close to them makes me realize how massive they are, too.

Jill got a tongue-lashing from a cashier many years ago about filling her mug. This was way back when they were resort-specific, but she didn't realize they weren't meant for all over Disney property. (We weren't mug-savvy back then.) The girl was quite rude, and we should have put our food down and left. Instead, Jill went over and emptied her drink, and we just timidly paid our money for the rest of our stuff. Jill was mortified, and she vowed never to step foot on CSR property again. I talked her into giving it a second chance by trying out the lunch buffet last year, and we had a pleasant experience. It is the only moderate she has not stayed at, so she is using this unexpected trip with John's parents to stay there. She does think it is a beautiful place, and I am sure they will have a very nice trip. They may come to love the place, but we still always tease her about her first experience there.

It will be fun to look forward to all year! :cool1:
I think we're going to stick with Poly beach. Hopefully, we can get a good 'Ohana time, and then we can just go hang out on the beach and socialize until fireworks time. We'll sleep in the next day, so we won't worry about how long it takes to get back to Pop. I think our guys will be going to a football game on New Year's Day.

We have already had the snow day discussion....no more!! You can have all you want, but none in New Milford :)

:flower3: I totally understand. If we ever use our 5-6 (whichever it is), I start sweating it, too. Don't want to go longer in the summer at all!!!

That sure was a fun surprise! Brooklyn must be very proud of her beautiful photo. You look wonderful, so relaxed and content. Of course you were, since you were up to your eyeballs in Disney, Brooklyn, and Mickey Bars.
Yesterday, we slept in a bit to recover from our Sunday downtown at the aquarium. Looking for Nemo was exhausting! We watched the inauguration ceremony, which DD pronounced "booooring!" Still, she was happy that at least we weren't making her sit through it all in person, in the cold. Laundry, homework, and then Inauguration Dinner, based loosely on the White House lunch menu: "boughten" lobster bisque, buffalo burgers & salad, pretty apple tart. Yum!
Hope you're feeling much better today & the food mentions didn't torture you. Trying to stay warm here. It was -2 for dog-walking at 6:30, and -4 for school drop-off at 7:30! Goodness, it's like Minnesota here! ;)

Hi Memom, thanks for taking us all around fort wilderness and the golf cart parade. It was a lovely tour.
Looking at those almost albino because they are soooo white horsed made me go hmmmmm.......wonder if they are the Cindy horses, that pull her beautiful carraige?

As always, looking forward to more.

KIM

I am nibbling on crackers right now. I stopped short of walking my kids through the lunch line. I took them into the cafeteria, but as I neared the food, I thought it might be best to let another teacher walk them through the line. ;)

We have been lucky with our temperatures so far. We have had a few nights in the teens, but not too bad overall, thankfully.

Those bigger horses are all working horses, from what we have been told. They do the trolley runs, I know, but I don't know what else they do. I can't say what, if anything, the little ones do. Maybe the next DISer that gets over that way can inquire and get a little more information.

That is great that Brooklynn got one last ride on the horses before she is too big. And great that she got another Mickey bar (that her MeMom got to enjoy also).:)

:thumbsup2 for a MeMom sighting!! They are few & far between.

It is supposed to be below zero here in NH this week!!! Bbrrrrrr!!
