I Don't Know, I Don't Speak Wind!!

Any garden centers that may have the flamingos? Or home improvement stores?
I knew someone who used those yard stake flamingos and played a 40th birthday prank by putting 40 of them in the yard of the birthday girl!

I spent Friday and Saturday traveling around. I went to Home Depot, Walmart, Target, Hobby Lobby, Trees and Trends, Home Goods, and Michael's. I am going to call Lowe's and Kohl's. I could get a set of four from Oriental Trading, but I have waited so late that it would cost a lot to have them shipped in 2-3 days. I have gotten some coloring sheets off the internet, and I am going to enlarge them and copy them onto pink paper. It'll be a paper pond with pink paper flamingos. At least the mingos will be represented. :thumbsup2

I may be totally wrong, but for some reason I'm thinking I saw some small yard flamingos at the Dollar Tree :confused3 It would have been a while ago though, I haven't been there lately. Do you have a party store?

Congrats to Tinkgurl! I'm sure she will have a fabulous honeymoon.

Your encounter with your old student warmed my heart. It's always nice to know you're remembered and appreciated.

Brooklynn and Bella look so cute in the under the sea skirts. I loved the look on Bella's face as she looked at the Princesses and interacted with them. It does my heart good to see her response to all the characters now.

The girls look so cute in their skirts. Bella's face is so cute when the princesses came around. Wow she is no longer afraid at all of the characters. That's great!

Congrats to tinkgirl. I bet they will have a wonderful honeymoon. How great that she and another disser became so close.

I will have to check out the Little Mermaid pictures on FB.

I hope you had a great weekend. That is great that you ran into a former student. How nice that he felt that way about you. A lot of the kids do not go on to college??? That is sad.

Those are all such precious pictures of the girls!! I love Bella's poses at the entrance! So super cute! :goodvibes

It's cool to see inside Akershus. I've never been and will be eating there with my family in October. I didn't really know what to expect but it looks similar to CRT kinda. I still don't know how I'll fare with their dinner menu. I wonder if they will let me choose from the children's menu! Breakfast certainly looks good though!

MeMom I'm glad you had such a nice meeting with your former student! What a sweet moment! :goodvibes

:bride: Congrats Tinkgurl!! Best wishes for a lifetime of happiness!

I love their tutus. Bella's sassy posing is precious, and she likes the characters now! I wonder if Sophie will take after Brooklynn or Bella with the like/dislike of the characters. Kids are all so different.

The girls are so adorable with all the characters. Looks a really great morning (well except for the rain).

I loved reading about your running into an former student. You sound like a wonderful, caring teacher!:thumbsup2

Oh my, that expression on Bella's face. :lovestruc Really, she just melted my heart. I have a three-month-old daughter, and I so hope she enjoys the princesses. I have three sons who love Disney, but something about taking my little girl there... :cloud9:

I love the way Bella has her head tilted to the side in the princess pictures. She looks to be happy, happy!!!

Cara, congratulations on your husband getting the middle school teaching job! He's a brave man teaching middle school!

There is a wedding in DIStown today, everyone!
Our own tinkgurl is marrying the man of her dreams. We've met him, and we approve of her choice. ;)

They are headed to the lovely Polynesian Resort for their honeymoon. Nice!
Wishing them the best that life has to offer!!!

:cool1::cool1: Congrats TINKGIRL :cool1::cool1:

You know a cool thing about this wedding? Kristen/xoktenox and tinkgurl (doesn't like to use her real name on DIS) met right here on our reports and became friends, and Kristen was in her wedding! I love seeing DIS friendships form and grow into something very special.

::yes:: I can say I have some very special friends I met right here on the DIS.

***********************************

I had to run some errands today, and when I was in one of the stores browsing (read: looking for a flamingo ;)) I heard a voice ask if my name would happen to be Ms. Blank. I said I would happen to be that very person. It was one of my former students. He graduated high school back in May. He was a little thicker and had more hair, but I could still see that little third grade face, after he told me who he was.

We talked a little, and I asked him what he remembered about his time in my class. He said he remembered that my class was fun and that I liked him. He said his second grade teacher had not liked him (his point of view), and that it felt good the next year that I liked him. I am glad he felt that way. It was good to see him. He said he doesn't have any career calling to him right now, so he is just going to take general classes at the junior college near here. Not a lot of our kids go to college, and some don't even finish high school, so I am glad to know that he plans to keep going further. Seeing former students - one of the happy moments of being a teacher. :goodvibes

Always nice when you can "see" where life has taken your students and a glimpse of the effect you had on them. :worship:

A rainy morning with the Princesses. Bella is having a blast with the Princesses and the Fab 5. :thumbsup2

All such great memories - even back when she had to be coaxed and now that she loves it.

Wow, thanks for the well wishes, MeMom and everyone! The wedding was perfect and it's crazy to say we are married! We are on our way and will arrive today at the Poly around 2 pm or so. We get home the 20th, so be looking for a TR after that!

Congratulations on the wedding! I saw pictures on Kristen's FB and it seems like it was absolutely perfect! :goodvibes

Have a spectacular honeymoon! We can't wait to hear how magical it was when yall get back!

Love the pointed toe! In most of the pictures with the princesses, Bella's head is tilted to the side. So cute! Brooke (my sister) did that from the age of around 2 through 4. She said she was modeling. We guessed she had seen pictures of models in ads and magazines where they had their head tilted, so that's what she thought she should do when people were taking her picture. And she's like that in EVERY picture during that time. It's hilarious!

Yay!! I was looking forward to this update so I would know what we are in for in December with the Princess breakfast! :)

Love the girls outfits!

I called a few places, and most said they had plenty of flamingos - back in the spring. I went to both of our party stores near here. They have luau stuff, but not flamingos. Flamingos on napkins, but no standing mingos.

Congrats to Tinkgurl! I'm sure she will have a fabulous honeymoon.

The few wedding pictures I have seen are absolutely 'picture perfect'!

I have thought of that young man several times this weekend. He is a good reminder to me that I am making memories now with my current students. I hope they are good ones.

I love watching the girls enjoy Disney World, or anything else for that matter.

A LOT of the kids do not go to college. I can't really know a number, but I feel like for our school, it's a very small percentage.

We will be eating at the castle on a future trip. Akershus was plenty castle-like for us, but it's the proper DIS thing to do to eat in the castle once. :goodvibes

Bella is definitely into posing.

I love their tutus. Bella's sassy posing is precious, and she likes the characters now! I wonder if Sophie will take after Brooklynn or Bella with the like/dislike of the characters. Kids are all so different.

I am going to hope she is like Brooklynn. Brooklynn was never afraid. She liked some more than others, and she was more wary of face characters than furry characters, but she would go up to them. She might look at them like they were crazy, but she would still go up to them.

The girls are so adorable with all the characters. Looks a really great morning (well except for the rain).

We were getting a little water-logged by that time. I think I might have seen John making sketches for building an ark. :rolleyes1

It will be much fun to do the princess things with your little girl! :cutie:

I have experienced WDW with my sons and our little boy cousins. I look forward to maybe doing so with grandsons some day.

I love the way Bella has her head tilted to the side in the princess pictures. She looks to be happy, happy!!!

Cara, congratulations on your husband getting the middle school teaching job! He's a brave man teaching middle school!

She tilts nearly every time.

All such great memories - even back when she had to be coaxed and now that she loves it.

And some of us are lucky enough to have friends that live near us or travel near us so that we can really truly see them sometimes! :dance3:

True, there were fun memories when Bella hid from characters, too.

Wow, thanks for the well wishes, MeMom and everyone! The wedding was perfect and it's crazy to say we are married! We are on our way and will arrive today at the Poly around 2 pm or so. We get home the 20th, so be looking for a TR after that!

Can't wait to see more wedding pictures and lots of Disney pictures later on. :goodvibes

Don't you know they are in heaven??/ Finally married and at Poly - what a wonderful life! :thumbsup2 I hope they have lots of magical moments on the trip. If they get Just Married buttons, I bet they will. ::yes::

She just started tilting one day, and she has not stopped. Silly girl!

Yay!! I was looking forward to this update so I would know what we are in for in December with the Princess breakfast!

Love the girls outfits!

Now you know. Glad we could help. Our table was right in front of the cold bar. There maybe three tables in that little alcove.

Loved all the pictures of the girls with the different characters. :) Hope you enjoyed your breakfast at Akershus.

Since we were already wet, we figured it wouldn't hurt to get wetter, so we headed under the sea.

The girls and I were waiting at the entrance while Jill and John put the strollers up and covered them well. As I was taking a picture of them, I noticed this 'secret' cast member door that I had not noticed before, since I am always walking into the building and not standing and waiting outside.

I cannot get any good pictures in here, but I'll show you the blurry ones and you can do the imaging in your head.

And the singing -
In the big blue world....

Dude, there is very large whale coming up behind you.

Gotta get outta here fast!

Someone wasn't so lucky.

June2012Part1423.jpg

You know I can't stand this part, right?

June2012Part1424.jpg

Thankfully, our little fish friend was let go to her freedom in a moment. Whew!

We spent plenty of time checking out The Seas. Since it was raining outside, this was as good a place to be as any.

Loved all the pictures of the girls with the different characters. :) Hope you enjoyed your breakfast at Akershus.

The best part of the food was the potato casserole. It was nice to see so many Princesses in one place, too. Lots of good photo ops without standing in line. :thumbsup2

Research showed he got some wrong and some right. ;) He got them mostly right, I admit.

That's it for tonight, and most likely all the trip pictures you will get until next week. I have much to do at school and home, and then we'll be partying this weekend. We will put up party pictures, for those who want to join us. I am hoping for perfect weather so some things can be outside. Have a good evening, all!

Love your pictures at the Seas with Nemo and Friends! Truly such an underrated place, there really is so much and the ride itself is really very cool. Oh I miss it so much. :thumbsup2 to the Hidden Mickey and the Dolphin research thing, I'll have to be on the look out for that when I go back.

Can't wait to hear how the party goes and hopefully we'll have you back over here in DISTown soon! :mickeyjum
