because I am *just* 37 and this pregnancy is draining every bit of energy I have. How could someone do this at 42 or 47? eek...

That is all...

I don't know either......I'm 33, and I know another pregnancy would kick my butt!

Heck, my first pregnancy just about did me in, I came home from work, ate dinner, and went to bed. The second time I was 26, and I was lucky that my then 2-yo slept in and took a nap every day! I worked evenings at the time, but with the nap before I went, it was ok.

Put your feet up and rest!

I had my 3rd child just as I turned 42 and it whipped my butt....way harder than my first 2 pregnancies. I was delivering mail all thru in the Florida heat so that probably didnt help but, youre right it was tough!!!

I had dd at the age of 36 and ds at the age of 40. Both were easy pregnancies overall. With dd I did develop toxemia for the last two weeks and after ds was born I had the spinal block headache, but other than that everything was smooth sailing.

You're tired because you are a mere mortal :flower3: I think lots of things are easy when you are loaded. I mean, who wouldn't breeze through pregnancy with a cook, a driver, Dr's on call to your house, a maid, a landscaper and the knowledge that whatever shifts out of place can be stitched right back into place by another Dr before the baby is even finished being wiped down. Then there is the fact they can get either nannies to help with the kids or an assistant to do all the other stuff once the baby comes home. :upsidedow I'd be very surprised if either of these women ever had to scrub a tub or wash down a mud covered dog while 8 months pregnant.... that's why they look so rested :cloud9:

My last one was bad and I was 30! I would NOT be a happy camper pregnant at 42.

I had my one and only at 36 and I promised God and 3 other people that I'd NEVER do that again!!!!:scared1:

Because they're rich and have people wait on them hand and foot. Then they have people who "nanny" their children.
I think there's a reason we're designed to have children while we're younger.

I'm 29 and it's kicking my butt! I have no idea how older mommas do it, really I don't, and I give you all the credit in the world!

I'm swollen, sore, exhausted, and uncomfortable. Oh and to boot I have a cold. Shoot me! lol

That's totally it. They have maids, nannies, housekeepers, cooks, drivers etc etc etc It's much easier to be pregnant when you really don't have to work. clean, cook.......

John Travolta's wife...she's Kelly somethingorother, isn't she? And pregnant. (I'm semi-out-of-the-loop.)

Thanks. The only Kelly I could think of was Ripa, and I hadn't heard her say she was pregnant again.

Yup, I agree. I'm 33 and this pregnancy is exhausting! I feel much older than I did 3 yrs ago when I had DD. Of course, I am a SAHM now and am chasing a very active toddler all day, can't sit on the couch when I want/need to etc so perhaps it's that instead of the age ;)

::yes:: Not going to mention any names, because these are, after all, all working parents - but I recall not too long ago one couple having a baby or babies with a surrogate, then immediately employing a nanny... in addition to whatever household and business help they already had ;)

Although, frankly, Kelly Preston absolutely strikes me as the type who would be scrubbing down a muddy dog in the tub at eight months pregnant :teeth:

I can't help but think of Elizabeth Edwards. She reminds me of Kelly Preston. Both lost a teenage son, then had more children later in life. Elizabeth had hers at 50. Now she faces terminal cancer and the prospect of her child being raised by her husband's mistress.

Also as an adoptive parent, I don't understand this great drive to have your own child. There are so many risks involved having a child in their late 40s/50s. Plus the chance is high that the child is not biologically theirs. (donated eggs) Why not just adopt?

I had my one and only at 35. When I first got pregnant the docs and nurses kept referring to my "advanced maternal age" and I thought that was hilarious. I felt so young. By the ninth month I fully understood what they were talking about. :lmao:

I'll be 42 this year and would love another one -- but I just can't. I don't think I would survive it, honestly. My body is falling apart fast enough on its own.
