We are going to be at WDW the weekend before Christmas and I don't have one thing booked. No MVMCP no ADR's nothing nada......

I know I need to get this stuff done but to tell you the truth I don't even care.

After many trips I am still happy just to soak up all the magic WDW has to offer just by walking in the gates of any of 4 parks!!!!!!

WDWHound on the Community Board just got back from Disneyland and he told a story about a little pixie dust he saw sprinkled BEFORE he even walked into the park......Little girl walks up to the entrance all dressed up as Alice in Wonderland with her mommy, and guess who comes out to open the park yep Alice herself. The little girls mommy holds her back but to no avail little Alice runs up to big Alice and holds on to her leg as tightly as she can. Mommy comes over to apologize but of course it is no problem.....Little girl and mom go off into the park but actually all that little girls dreams came true before they even walked in. :wizard:

I loved this story and it got me to thinking I am still so excited to go as is the rest of my family, so much so if I ask them what they want me to book, they don't care either, just being there is enough. :cloud9:

How about you?? :flower:

I'm with you...being there will be enough for me. :goodvibes I haven't book any ADR's, no idea what DH and I will be doing in the parks. We have 3 weeks, I'm sure we'll get most of the things we want done. :hourglass No stress...it's our dream vacation. We plan to take it one day at a time. Maybe I'd feel different if I only had a week and/or if I had children.

What a great "can-do" attitude!

After several trips to WDW ourselves, I too have actually planned less this year, but still have made a few plans for meals. I hope that you enjoy your trip!

I have a son with Down Syndrome who celebrates Christmas all year long so I will be taking care of his requests for sure  We probably wouldn't even be making this trip because my older son is standing up for a wedding if it weren't for Jack.

Thank You Jack!! :love2:

We are going the 17th to 27th of Dec and staying at POR, and I have only 3 ADR's made. We hope to really just enjoy the resort--first time for the kids to stay on property, enjoy the recreation options, and soak-up some Disney Magic. My DH is really proud of me for not planning the comando attack that we usually take when headed to Disney.

It's been a while since we stayed there, but we really enjoyed relaxing in their lounge by the fireplace. We would order appetizers and listen to Bob J. while the kids would play in the arcade or shop for trinkets. During the holiday they also had some entertainment going on.

We did this on a couple different evenings. I also remember eating at CRT 2 times during that trip and we got the ressie when we arrived hahaha. No way you could do that now!!

I just booked our offsite accommodations for December 24-26. As in yesterday. It's not Disney but that's OK. My husband and I will be together for Christmas. We'll spend most of our time at Disney World and will be happy with just seeing the decorations and the holiday storytellers. We'll have no touring plan and no seatings for meals. We'll wing it. This is a special Christmas for us because for the first time in over four years, BOTH of us are employed. And we're spending the holiday at our very special Laughing Place.

We have been to Disney many times but I have to admit that this is the 1st time that I have ever pre planned so many activities and ADRs.

This is our first time with the dining plan too so maybe that is why I felt so much pressure to book times for our meals.

I truly wish that I didn't feel the need to prebook so much....I would give anything to go back to the day when you could just walk in and get what you wanted....or even have the concierge at the hotel do it for you. :goodvibes

Sorry to say that I succumbed to the pressure.

That is so close to the magical moment we had this past December at Disneyland. My DD4 was dressed as Sleeping Beauty on our way to a princess character breakfast. We stopped in town square to and were looking up at the beautiful Christmas tree. Somebody called out "Little Sleeping Beauty" a couple of times. At first we did not realize they were calling to our daughter - since that is not really her name ;) When we finally realized they were talking to us... we looked up to see Prince Philip and Sleeping Beauty walking down Main Street TO US! They bent down to talk to our daughter. It happened so quickly we did not even think to get out our camera. It was very, very special.

Wow, I love these stories, I think I am gunna have to book another trip to Disneyland!!

disnut8... Have a Wonderful time with your husband! I drove down with the kids for a quick trip in Aug. and we stayed at Universal and the new Nick Suites. It was so much fun eating fast food and driving around to different stuff, but of course we still did one day at WDW!

photonut...I still have some time left before our trip so I hope I don't go into panic mode :rolleyes1 Have fun with that dining plan my DH would be in heaven!

I feel this way too. I was just up there last weekend showing my BIL around. He asked me how many times I had ridden TOT in all my trips and I told him I had lost count but that it didn't really matter to me if I ride it or not, I don't come to WDW for the rides anymore. I just go because I like to be there. :goodvibes
